I've heard mixed things about the garage in Wishaw, never take a car to get Mot'd there as they'll find things wrong with the car which are perfectly fine. The only person I know who took an FD there to get work done had the engine go shortly afterwards, got it taken back and then it broke again and he had to get the car sent down to england for a proper rebuild.

Pretty sure their main work is on Skylines, supra's etc and they're hesitant about FD's

What is it you're needing to have done or wanting done in the future?  My plan is to drive it down to for example WGT and leave it there to get work done then get a lift down to pick it up.

do you not remember how bad fuel consumption is on these cars.  If it was closer and not cost a fortune for a look i\'d probably it a try.

1st generation RX-7's / Hello from a new 1st gen owner

I was close to selling it as the turbo\'s were acting weird and kept going into limp mode. turned out the ecu was just bad as I put in a different one and it worked perfectly. so shall keep it for a while.  There are not many cars that would interest me at the moment, only really s2000 or some other 2 seater or 2+2 sports cars.

I walk to work so fuel consumption isn\'t a huge issue for me atm, need to get the bike back on the road, the battery is completely dead now.

was your fc a turbo one or just na?

yeah mines fine, the ecu has :censored::censored::censored::censored:ed up so replacement is on its way and then back to normal :)

fuel consumption is horrific though, luckily I barely drive it.

from Glasgow myself, not many rx7\'s around here, only seen two in the last few years.  Best to get one as stock as possible that way you can do everything yourself and know it\'s all good.

just as a warning, if you have any problems with it there isn\'t many places that know about rx7\'s, there is the garage in wishaw but i\'d avoid it like the plague.  Never had a good experience and neither have other people who have taken rotaries in that I know.

i\'d say you can take a look at mine but huge reduction in hours at work has meant not much work has been done on it recently.

shame you\'re on the complete other end of the country, was looking to swap rx7 for an s2000 a while ago.

looks like the cross over pipe has a crack at the mounting

also have these that do not connect to anything, aftermarket as it has hks but seems like it should plug in somewhere

Would I be correct in my assumption that the crack may be causing the pressure loss?

Took my car for a dyno and the boost was only at 0.38 bar which produced some very low scores.  Any idea why my boost is so low? guy at the dyno reckons vacuum pipes have cracked or split which is causing pressure loss.

turbo\'s spool up no problem and switch over with no issues.

any idea\'s why the boost is so much lower than it should

managed to reset the ecu and all seems to be fine now
