If it is the same as the Jap spec one, then I just got one from RHD Japan which wasn\'t too expensive (well, it was cheaper than the UK price on this thread!).

Wheels & Tyres, Suspension & Brakes / Brake discs
October 31, 2012, 05:58:55 PM
Who is currently making slotted standard size front brake discs for the FD? I\'m aware of the ones sold by MRP and Rotaryart, and I\'ve used the Speedline supplied discs in the past. Just wondering what else is out there?

Tarox are no longer willing to guarantee supply of their discs, I can\'t find any current ones from Black Diamond and Brembo only make plain discs.

Cheers,

Chris.

I. C. E. & Electrical / Motaquip battery Q
January 22, 2012, 11:29:47 AM
I\'ve got a motaquip VBZ32 battery which needs charging. Is it a sealed battery or not? Can\'t find any info on the web, and it has a plastic strip on the top which looks like it should come off. There is a slot hole on either end which could be for prising it off. Trouble is, I\'ve tried to take it off and the plastic gives before it comes off so I\'m guessig it may be a sealed unit after all.

Also, the sides of the battery case are slightly bulged which worrries me a bit - normal or not?

I\'m not keen on spraying acid everywhere if it goes pop - any thoughts?

Ta,

I have a Autometer boost gauge in my FD, connected to the manifold with small diameter hard nylon tubing. The rubber connector between the nylon tubing and the nipple on the manifold has popped off and disappeared, so I need to get hold of another connector. Does anyone know where I can get a connector from?

I\'ve had a look using google, but can\'t find anything that looks right.

Thanks,

Chris.

And, having started this thread, I can\'t bl**dy well make Goodwood this year!! :2Mad:2Mad

Absolutely gutted :(

Chances of the 787B appearing outside Japan again.... Maybe not.

I only live 2 hours away from Goodwood, maybe if I listen hard enough :D

Stock lights = awful. I got one of the older HID kits of MRP a couple of years ago. It\'s only a single HID unit but it was still a worthwhile upgrade, although at some point I\'ll probably shell out for a twin HID kit now they are cheaper. Only downside is it seems to cause interference in the radio reception when the HID lights are on, to the point that I can\'t use the radio. Don\'t know if anyone else has found this, and it doesn\'t really bother me

Go with the popular vote for T1-R? Good on road and track, although obviously not as grippy as 888\'s, and fine in wet or dry. Got a few track days out of mine too, mostly airfields with reasonable surfaces. Did melt the previous set round Brands Hatch though...

I\'m looking at R-compound tyres for my next set for more grip in track, but been happy with my current ones overall.

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / 787B at Goodwood FoS?
November 13, 2010, 10:04:13 PM
Surprised no-one else has mentioned this.... The theme for next year\'s Goodwood Festival of Speed has been announced "Racing revolutions - quantum leaps that shaped motorsport."

The Mazda Le Mans victory is specifically mentioned in the PH article, although it is unclear whether this is quoted from the FoS press pack.

It would be AMAZING to have the 787B over here again - hope they do it!

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Track day Keevil 23/08
August 23, 2010, 06:33:37 PM
Well, got back about 5 minutes ago from another really well organised day.  Weather a bit iffy with some rain this morning, but otherwise a nice dry afternoon. Good mix of cars - Ariel Atom, Radical SR3, lots of very tuned Cossie\'s and old Escorts (some with fibreglass bodies, slicks and turbos - oversteer galore!).

Track was great, took a bit of learning with a couple of bits where you end up all over the place unless you know the lines. Spent the morning learning the track and getting overtaken alot. Spent the afternoon trying to drive the nuts off the Rex and didn\'t get overtaken by much.

Need to think about a better radiator and maybe some sort of baffles in the fuel tank as car was cutting out when I got down to just over half a tank.

Also got a new camera mount and a shiny HD camera, so if I can get the technology sorted I\'ll see if any of the vids are fit to post (if I can find one where I\'m not driving like a muppet :p )

Quality day :Thumbs-up

I\'ve just seen some of the worst driving ever whilst going to an NHS antenatal class with my pregnant other half. Got overtaken by a lunatic in an Insignia VXR doing *easily* 90mph on a busy residential 30mph road, overtaking into traffic, round blind corners, forcing his way back in between cars. Unbelievable and very dangerous. We get to the antenatal class and find that the driver is there with his 8 month pregnant wife. These f#ckwits should be sterilised at birth or just executed for the good of the gene pool... :2Mad:2Mad:2Mad:2Mad:2Mad

They were real chavs with one brain cell between them as well, didn\'t exactly come across as nice people in the class. I\'m sure their kid will grow up to be a lovely person with such woderful role models... (ok, Chris, calm down. just breathe....).

Grrr.
