Does anyone have a compression tester they have for sale/borrow/hire? Need a set of results whilst the engine is still intact. Have a set of results from the previous owner he said was given to him from rx motors but someone has said the results don\'t look right. So if anyone has one or can get hold if 1 please let me know

Quote from: Skifledanabit;855745Had a look at the workshop manual. Its for an FC but it should be the same outcome. Troubleshooting for fluctuating speedometer - defective speedometer cable or defective speedometer.

:wiggle Sooooo could be faulty cable or the actual rev clock.. I\'ll check the cable first :cheers

I. C. E. & Electrical / rev gauge dancing?!

I\'ve owned 2 rx7s now and had the same problem with both. Basically the rev counter is all over the place and never has a correct reading. I\'ve heard that this is caused from a bad earth.

Can anyone help with this?

thanks

No boost what so ever went from spiking to completely no boost within about a week. I did think the same when you say about the wg.. coming off the wastegate i have a screamer and its not blowing out when just ticking over so i assume the wastegate is working as it should. i also took it all apart about a week ago and gave it a good look over. seemed to be fine

:Grrr

Been a while I\'ve been stuck with this problem. now the summer is coming i really want to get it sorted asap...

I have wrote up about this before.. problem is my car is not boosting at all. running a t66, 1500cc injectors, external waste gate, apexi pfc with commander etc.... boost problem started by spiking, then spiking worse, then to the point where soon as boost even trys to spool up it splutters real bad... i brought new plugs, leads and also took the waste gate off to have a look see if there was any obvious problems.. but still after all that it still runs S**T

Can someone please direct me to someone i can take my car to for it to be repaired or looked at??? possibly near gloucestershire or south midlands..

Clutch is fineeeeee!!!! Its 100% a boost problem. The boost has gone from spiking bad to worse and now not boosting what so ever. Just fitted new hks plugs and leads and still the problem is not solved. Really p*ss*ng me off now. Is there anyone near gloucester/bristol/birmingham that i can take my rx to that can help. I have a funny feeling that my external wastegate could be causing this problem. But would prefer letting someone that knows what they are doing with rotarys to have a look?!

It had a 3 paddle clutch fitted 600 miles ago. When i was driving the car my friend following said when it was trying to boost it was spitting flames out.

Thing is i brought plugs last week ngk platinum ones because the car would even start from could and ever since i\'ve had them in i\'ve had nothing but problems it seems. So i managed to hunt down new hks iridium plugs for 14 quid each which i think is a decent price also brought new leads. Once i have fitted that its going for a re-map. Hopefully fingers crossed that should be the last of my boosting problems
