Quote from: turbotoaster;763667where my car is currently being built, its setup as pay as i go, i dont earn much money and as such im working with the builder so that he gets paid and repeat business from me and that if i run out of money then i can just get the vehicle back and finish it myself instead of being left with a massive bill with no way of paying it off.

Ive never been to a tuner/garage where i have had to pay in advance, always pay on collection/completion

That\'s exactly what my point was when I said to Mir "I doubt you have paid up front" Yeah pay as the work is done is the best way. Well as of now, there are extra work that\'s being done to the car, and Ross has been kind enough not to have charged me for it up front, but that\'s for little extras here and there and some additional labour  :Hammer

Quote from: PDale;763490I can understand paying for parts up front, thats a given. But surely labour is an ongoing expense and can be paid monthly or whatever in installments, no? As you say, already agreed terms so no use crying about it.

"The only problem I have with the build is that, it is taking far too  long than it should, and Im not happy with the progress of it all."

No, not complaining at all.... :Talking1

Your post came across very condescending, which was ironic as the person you aimed it at isn\'t short of a few quid either I\'m sure. :Ladys-man

Maybe I am a c**t, what are YOU going to do about it? I\'ve been called worse :chat

Anyway, I\'m interested in the build of your car. Happy to see a rex being pampered rather than broken and scrapped!

listen mate, I dont\'t know what your problem is, If you think im some teenager and will drag on this silly meaningless arguement with you, I\'m not. Don\'t be judgemental and make stupid comments about people\'s character based on one comment. That\'s not very intelligent of you, secondly you have misinterpreted my previous comment to Mir where I said " I doubt you have paid for the cost of the build up front" this wasn\'t aimed at Mir suggesting that he has no money as such, I meant it in a different way, meaning a lot of garages wouldn\'t charge up front presumably!!!! not that Mir has no money (how th ffff would I know that?). Anyway, you do come across as a c**t by the way you even misinterpreted my post :Talking1 and now draggin it on. As I said I\'m here to make friends and share my enthusiasm about cars.

Quote from: PDale;763471I was following the progress on this car from the link in the first post and thought \'fair play, someone has a few quid and wants to spend it on a rex, should look good\'. From the quote above you sound full of yourself and TBH a bit of a knob. Oh well, at least the car should look good when its finished.

As a side note, why do people pay for the whole project up front!? The project would have moved much more quickly if you had payed in installments for work completed as the project progressed. It gives no incentive for a tuner to work quickly if they have secured all your cash. They will be concentrating on obtaining new work/money as they don\'t have to keep you happy if they\'ve got all the cash!

Well paying for the project up front was demanded or basically no work would be done. I can understand that, as doing such a big project does cost a lot for the tuners too. And the overheads, and paying staff or other craftsmen for the customisation etc. But in my case it has taken a bit longer. Anyway, no point complaining about that now.

As for me being full of myself lool, all I can say is don\'t be a judgemental d**khead. And even if I was full of myself, what are you gonna do about it ? Stop being a foul mouthed c**t, I have joined here to talk about cars not about how big my ba**s are. And don\'t get the wrong impression I\'m your usual friendly guy :D

Quote from: Mir;763393Nigel, welcome to the world of "projects". My project nearly took 2 years to get to the 50 percent. I am still working on it and it seems that it will never end. Trust me..

Mir

Who is doing the work for you? and have you paid for the cost of the project up front? I doubt it mate. I have already paid for the cost of the build, hence Im complaining about the time it\'s taking, but never mind... it won\'t be long now I hope.

Quote from: Panjy;763402I was hoping you\'d read this and answer some questions.

So what was the deal with the hydraulics?

I have answered this already in my previous post above  :)

Quote from: turbo boy;763385How many steroid abused horses are we talkin here?
My original plan was to upgrade the twins but worked out to be more expensive. Are they seqential or non seqential like the f40?

I wouldn\'t know, Ross can answer that.

Quote from: gonzoninja;761428to be honest I don\'t get a lot of it. He seems to have an awful lot of spare cash, but hey if that\'s how he wants to spend it, it\'s up to him.

not sure about the F40 turbos though...they must be 20 years old...seriously there is nothing better now?! What about one of those variable-vane turbos out of the 911 turbo...or am I being silly?

For anything you find confusing or as you put it "don\'t get" it\'s better to ask Ross, as he is doing everything. The turbos were also his recommendation. Initially I wanted a Greddy T88, but didn\'t want it to be too laggy, so went for the twin set up based on Ross\'s recommendation. Apparently these turbos had very little usage and they are in very good condition.
The only problem I have with the build is that, it is taking far too long than it should, and Im not happy with the progress of it all.
The hydrauclic bullshyte has been removed, so now, it has the aragosta suspensions.

Sure does look like an exciting project you\'ve got going on there. You\'ve got a lot of people wondering what the spring set up in the back of the car is for
Look forward to seeing it all finished, but pink?!.... really??? :p

Adam

well, only half pink, the other half is naked carbon.

Hi everyone, sorry I have not been a member of the forum, well... I in fact was from 2005, but I have forgotten my username and password, but anyway, I\'m a hardcore enthusiast of the RX7 (as it\'s evident by the project I have got going) apart from the love for Skyline GTRs, hence I have both thankfully :chat. I was told by Ross at Dragon that the project thread on gtr register was being discussed on here and also that members were being pretty comic about it all for one reason or another, so I was intrigued to find the thread to the discussion here. Anyway, not important.
To clear things up. the suspensions in the boot were initially there because originally the plan was to go for hydraulic suspensions set up, but that plan was ditched and instead it now has Aragosta Knight Sports coilovers suspensions :cool. worry not it wont be on no air suspension or hydraulics as such. I\'m glad to have diverted away from the horrible hydraulic set up.
Thanks all.
