Old school Mazda's / RX323 Project - Chassis Brackets

I can\'t remember if I still have a 6 port manifold? I will have to look!  It\'s all a bit grey as to what is boxed up in the garages.

No they are still there, I think all of them are with the car, a couple of them might be knocking about in various garages though. I will have to check out what is where and get back to you on it.

well they all fit nicely inside the shell of the car, if you have the cash you can take the lot! (there are a lot bits that have collected over the years , I need to have sort out and compile a list in fact!)

I don\'t know about the offset but the 10" wide wheels used to stick out the standard 323 arches by about 6" !!! (they are properly wide and have the opposite offset to the standard wheels) IIRC they have 4" of rim on the inside and 6" on the outside. I have the CAD models I did somewhere on my old laptop.

The Wellers on the back are 13x10 with a 4x108 pcd (and a 4x100?) I can\'t recall the offset but I think it is negative, and  they have a pair of brand new soft compound Kumho 235/45/r13 tyres on them. - 150quid for the pair.

the fronts are 13x6.5 (or 7\'s can\'t remember) still in the boxes 50quid for the pair.

I have 3 Kirkey seats, all are brand new and in 3 different widths (need to find out what sizes they are) and two have covers.  Would like 100 each for the ones with covers and 75 for the one without.

Can sort photos at some point but the parts are not local to me at the moment.

Hey,
I am still alive but this project is not. It\'s currently sat in a garage waiting for me to decide what to do with the bits. (finishing it is not going to happen, and I think it\'s taken me nearly a year to come to terms with that)

Things have changed a little now I am back in the UK, got a 120 mile a day commute that eats all my spare time (and energy!). Currently I am driving an Audi A4 avant turbo diesel so it\'s all a bit tame and boring I am afraid. My green 323 V6 died recently due to economic reasons (exhaust failed at Y pipe and only replacement available was from Mazda at roughly one arm and one leg!)

But I am now hankering for something more interesting after less than 6 months of diesel driving (it\'s not like it\'s that slow either at 130bhp it\'d probably give my rally car a run!)  but it will have to be something mainstream and fairly new to fit in with the big mileage at the moment. I think I\'ve got the feeling that I have to own something a bit lairy now before they make them (more) exorbitantly expensive to run and own or they just stop making all the fun models due to the emissions targets set for the auto industry.

Still got the 1st gen and the Yellow peril 323 and all parts so if anyone is interested in a project car or various parts (most of them are listed on this thread or the one about my rx-7) get in touch. The Rx7 is pretty much all there, it needs a remap for the new ported motor and some minor finishing work - Rad fitting (new alloy item) electric fan fitting, motor has been sat a long time but is 0 miles on a new build (of course it requires mapping too and probably some bigger injectors to keep up with the bridgey 12a)

Anyhow, how are the pair of you doing out there on the island? How is the pottery business doing and how is that Moggy of yours!

General Technical / Duel downpipe .. a work of art!!
February 25, 2008, 08:31:43 PM
looking at it another way

isn\'t it just because of the space restriction, two pipes are flatter than one large pipe, other downpipes are squashed in this area to clear so it could be a simple packaging reason. I doubt most of these products have any great science behind them, it would cost far too much to fully understand what is going on.

Quote from: SpeedworksEver though why group A rally cars just have a 70mm throughout exhaust system?

because they are restricted on the engine capacity and have an inlet restrictor that limits mass flow to a set figure. No point going any larger than the bare minimum required.

you don\'t need to be a member to post in for sale section, just read the instructions at the top of the forum and post a for sale add in the correct section please.

try hadrians panels http://www.perfectpanels.co.uk/

you will be lucky to find many places that have stuff for old Mazda\'s in stock, the amount of rotten ones in the past has eaten most of the UK\'s panel stock!

yeah it\'s been sat a long while now with no progress. Working abroad full time (and living out here for the majority of the time) is taking it\'s toll. Plus I have been trying to get my rx-7 back up to scratch (engine rebuild, general tidying up and resolving of issues) which is also going very slowly.

So Frustrated at the lack of progress but it\'s still not dead :)

General Technical / Why have those BIG BIG wheels??????

you can\'t simplify physics to the point you have either ... we will never fully understand the "laws" and there will always be exceptions.

wider wheels ... or tyres? oh there\'s another debate :) narrow tyres on wide rims and wide tyres on narrow rims ... a can of worms on many forums :)

thats a good link and shows just how complicated anything is when you try and do anything but a rough estimate.

I remember reading somewhere that they amount of grip given by a proper top fuel style wrinkle wall slick actaully defies some of the formula\'s used to try and estimate grip due to the fact that the tyre deforms and absorbs energy + the fact that it is practically stuck to the track as well!

Ross has been reinstated as a guest since yesterday and if you read this thread you will see the reason why his access was suspended. I still don\'t think this is the place for this dispute, it has nothing to do with the customers who buy these products and is purely between the companies involved 3 of which are nothing to do with this forum at all! So why do we have to deal with all this exactly?
