3rd generation RX-7's / Laeeqs old car

Just to let you guys know that I am selling my car, as pictured above, on Ebay Motors.
If anyone asks about it many of you guys have seen the car and know its history.
It\'s still a dam* good car and has been sorted out by AtomicRex for track days.
I\'m going racing this year in another class of car so happy to pass the RX on to someone who can enjoy her.
All the best

Hi
I have a APEXI Commander unit. I don\'t know if that means the ECU is stock or not - I presume it\'s an APEXI ecu ?! (I\'m no expert here).
If you\'re asking if I have a separate stock ecu on the shelf in the shed, the answer is \'no\'.

My FD, non-cat 1993 import car, failed the MOT on emissions. Max levels are CO 3.5 and HC 1400 (I think). Test showed CO was 6.7 and HC at 2500.

The engine runs quite, smooth amd trouble free. A little rich on start up but after it has warmed up it ticks over nicely on idle and runs smoothly at speed. No smoke, no obvious fumes and doesn\'t burn oil. No cat fitted.
I have lowred the PIM settings down to 66% as suggested in another thread here. It didn\'t make the readings any better though.

How do I get it to pass the MOT?
Any help greatfully received.

For those of you who like Track Days or are thinking about doing a track day, check out Lydden Hill in Kent, near Canterbury. It\'s very relaxed. Rates are pretty good too. You get a 20min session every hour - all day long. Each of the 3 x 20 min sessions per hour are divided in to ability groups - so, Novice, Intermediate and Experienced groups.

I\'ve not changed the car much since I got it. Big headlights in the oil cooler side vents have been removed, AtomicRex replaced all suspension and bushes, exhaust system and clutch. Goes like a rocket and firm footed too, even with regular road tyres.
Lydden Hill is pretty good for viewing or watching other drivers\' techniques as the circuit nestles in a valley so that you can see all of the circuit at once.
Looking forward to the next trackday.

I\'ve had all the bushes replaced by AtomicRex. All suspension and steering done and also had all wheels realigned properly. Good job done by ARex. Recommended.

HI
Quite agree with you Jojo - well summed up. It was a good day.
Personally, I was warmly greeted at the gate, checked off on the list, and guided down to the car park. I thought the staff were fine.

As a newbie here, I thought it worth mentioning that I have experience of forums in other corners of my life unrelated to cars. Those forums have the same problems where most people seldom post - most members are quite content to just read - which is OK. However, the MRC forum is really active with a load of posts everyday of the year. If there were only a few posts per month then the club could count itself in real trouble. As it is, there are a great many people who have the passion and commit the time to contribute to the forum and help its members. Many of the members also do valuable work to help Clive and Lisa.
All in all, I\'d say this is a very healthy club.

Looking forward to the event next year too.
Keep up the good work.

I\'ll be there. Looking forward to it.
For those unsure, it\'s a fantastic museum unspoilt by commercialism. It has stackd of cars and planes and much more to look at. A nice tea room and a completely relaxed atmosphere. Recommended family or self day out.

Thanks Arnie, yup I don\'t want to destroy the sound permanently - it sounds good.
Looking at the ECV option, I see that there is general apprehension about the butterfly valve apparatus. Have you fitted one?
As I want to do more track days, I guess quietening the exhaust down permanently with a proper silencer is the sensible option. However, I would like to check out the temp baffles (pic above) as that will be a pretty cheap option (50 quid).:Thumbs-up
