General Technical / Car trailer - reverse on?
May 12, 2012, 05:08:40 PM
When my heater matrix ruptured they towed my car away on a flatbed. Had to be reversed on due to the low front bumper (didn\'t have my diffuser back then). Was no problem.

I\'d take off the blade of the GT-wing if I were you.

General Technical / ID this noise, please

Coming back to this, finally found some time, and the skills (I\'m currently recovering from partial amputation of my right thumb after being diagnosed with skin cancer), and turns out one of the bolts holding the Blitz BOV in place had worked loose, so on boost it was blowing through the gasket there.
Tightened. Drove the car. Boosted. Happy times.

As my FD had stood still for 4 weeks while I was in hospital, I finally fired her up again today and took her for a drive.
When she was warmed up, I noticed a strange noise on boost. Sounded like a highpitched sound, like air coming out of a small opening.
The sound cannot be heard when opening the throttle at standstill, only when driving, and on boost.

I tried recording it, you can make out the sound several times in the video.
Who knows what it could be?

3rd generation RX-7's / Steering wheel boss spacer?
February 24, 2012, 08:59:00 PM
I bought a HKB one off Driftworks. Fits perfect, no need  for any spacer...

Only had to modify the horn plug, as that fouled the new boss kit.

My best guess is that if you\'re driving on the tires now, and the law changes, you\'re basically screwed into buying new tires.

They are road legal, but they\'re scary as hell in the rain.
I used to drive on R888\'s daily, and in heavy rain you can feel the car floating away sometimes.

Is it me or is the wing upside down? The smaller blade should be above and behind the large blade?

The lights are questionable, but I love the rest of the car. Black FD\'s are so sweet! And the enginebay looks good!!!

Quote from: Skifledanabit;812863Damn... That sucks... All of your thumb or just a bit of it?
I don\'t know the English word for it, but it\'s the last bone, so from the "hinge", the part with the nail on it.
Quote from: B.Martin;812872Jeez man, that\'s not good! Hope all goes well mate.
Thanks mate.

My personal recent fail: being diagnosed with skin cancer, and surgery coming up to remove my right thumb....
Pretty p-\'d off with that right now....

General Technical / RX8 seats into an FD
February 01, 2012, 08:30:52 PM
The rails have to be modified. It\'s definatly NOT a bolt on job.

I can get electric RX8 seats, but decided it\'s too much hassle to do it. Going bucket seat instead.
