This car is great, seriously perhaps people should stop saying a car is only worth X amount. Because if you were to take a 92 in good condition, buy all the OEM bits and then paint it. You wouldn\'t be too far away from the asking price.

I know because my car has been converted to 99 spec also and I had to repaint the entire car.

Nobody seems to be complaining about Newera imports asking a similar price for a similar spec FD?

Finding a good FD is getting harder, they have all been ruined with gash-body kits in my opinion.

This is clean - just the way an FD should be!

Quote from: ceylon;851343Yes please, would need to be the later type that secures with bolts, as apposed to the early type that is secured with a jubilee clip & hose.

Hey bud,
Yeah I\'m pretty sure it uses bolts to secure rather than a jubilee clip as it was from the later Efini Y-Pipe.

How I ended up with 2 is a long story but I have a spare. It\'s under a whole bunch of crap in storage but I\'ll see if it can be dug out.

Send me an email at gavindoolan (at) gmail (dot) com and let me know how much you want to pay for it.

I\'m in Ireland so would need to post to you, not sure on shipping costs but I would say around 10 pounds, but that\'s just a guess.

Cheers.

I think I have a spare of the far left cross over pipe somewhere, if still needed?

Items For Sale / Feed Sonic R Exhaust\'s
February 01, 2013, 12:28:06 PM
Hey dude,
Is there any markings to indicate it\'s a FEED / SONIC exhaust system? Looking at pics it doesn\'t look like others like this:

It sounds quiet, can you tell me how quiet it is?

Hi there,
I couldn\'t find a better category for this post, but essentially I\'m looking to start offering some parts to the European rotary market and want to know what steps are involved to become an official trader?

This is very much an experimental thing for me and if all goes well I will be looking to offer many more bits and pieces to the community but for now will be starting small.

If there is an official process to this, please let me know?:driving

I reakon you\'re mad selling that. Your car looks fab with the Mazdaspeed wheels.

What will you replace it with?

Quote from: jetpilot;841471There are quite a few, but depends on your definition of good, at that price they will need some attention, whether that\'s bodywork or some fettling to get the most out of the single, fuelling mods, intercooler perhaps. I  bought mine for a bit over £4k.

There have been two very nice streetable turbo kits sell recently, at a grand ish and also new ones available for just over £2k from a well respected advertiser on here.

The talk of streetable is an argument in itself, define steetable, its individual. Most people change from twins for simplification of the rats nest (reliability) and easier increases in power,  if you want truly streetable, stick with your twins, they get good hp :)

A perfect example for you though

Yeah I saw that and was tempted alright. The parts alone are more than the sum of that price. Problem is it just needs that bit extra to finish it off and for me that makes it an unknown quantity.

For me to buy that car

4k asking price
+ 1K to register on Irish roads + road tax (130 p/year)
+ 1K (rough estimate to finish off and get professionally tuned - maybe new wastegate?)

Then the bodywork...
It looks a bit rough alright, being a UK car worries me a little with regard to rust..

A couple more thousand to get repainted...

So really it\'s a 7-8K car at best - maybe more if it\'s been sitting in terms of brakes suspension etc...

Items For Sale / Rare Japanese Tuning Magazines

Are these in English? I would have assumed they were not that useful to non-Japanese language specialists.

What kind of info do they contain?

@jetpilot I\'m not trying to provoke anyone here but where do I find a good single turbo FD for 4k?

I recently read these resources and found them extremely helpful.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_jE2-IDoVTfSGZhZEhsM0ZNRk0/edit?pli=1
http://www.wrex-racing.com/docs/fd/tuning/fd_tuning.doc

Not tried any of it yet, still reading to learn how it all works.

I\'m heading down this road....

I have the following:

1. Feed Downpipe (140 pounds)
2. HKS high flow cat (I don\'t believe in de-cat\'s on a street car). (130 pounds)
3. Greddy/Trust SMIC with hard pipes / elbow (300 pounds)
4. Koyo Rad with silicone hoses (350 pounds)
5. ARC airbox (was already on car, but could get for 100 pounds 2nd hand)
6. Power FC (was already on car but get for 550 pounds 2nd hand)
7. Magnecore leads (50 pounds)
8. Will replace fuel filter (have it already) (30 pounds)

I\'m guessing I\'ll may also need these:

9. Bigger Injectors (100 pounds?)
10. Possibly aftermarket fuel rail and regulator? (120 pounds)
11. Uprated fuel pump (Supra fuel pump?) / Walbro or Bosch 044? (150 pounds)
12. Colder plugs? (40 pounds)
13. HKS ignition amp? (250 pounds)
14. Need to source backbox (hoping to find a racing beat dual tip for sale soon). (200 pounds 2nd hand)
15. Remap (thinking of learning myself 250 pounds for Power FC FC data loggit software) or get a pro (300 pounds)

So that\'s already like: 2810 pounds without labour. If your car is completely standard with a good motor.

But it should be pretty reliable.

Some interesting points in this thread as someone who likes the original twins (pre 99 spec) and has a standard exhaust system / stock intercooler etc..

I have also been considering if I should just leave the car as is, go BNR uprated twins or convert to single turbo set up at some stage.

Yes you can buy a pre-converted car, trouble is - I find many of the single turbo cars I\'ve seen may not have the best set up for street. Some have massive turbo\'s which are no good for the roads in Ireland (not sure about UK) but even with stock twins my car is plenty fast.

If anyone has ever bought anything into the UK / EU from outside you\'ll soon realise the listed price on a website is often far cheaper than what you actually pay with shipping + tax etc..

I paid around 400GBP for a 99 spec bumper skin (only!) new from Mazda to give an idea.

I would imagine a good single turbo vs a poor single turbo set up would be like night and day in terms of the way the car drives.

I\'ve also considered buying a converted single turbo FD but often the bodywork looks appalling (not a fan of body kits on FD\'s to be honest) so your going to have to invest 2-3k in bodywork to return it to standard and repaint it.

So I guess it all comes back to preference, what do you want from your car? The BNR\'s are good value for money as far as I can tell.

Here are some links to Knightsport twins (converted to non seq)

Cars for Sale / 1995 rx7 forsale
November 14, 2012, 09:38:51 AM
Nice car, I saw it passed in on eBay. Just wondering though are you sure it\'s a 95 and not a 96 model? It has the 96 rear wing and I assume the round tail lights which would indicate a 96 model.
