That sucks bro.  No chance of selling the family and keeping the FC?!

All the best for you in a tough festive season.

Yeah, still way out of my current price range though :(

I thought it was knock-off, but checked the RE Ameniya site and their pics are almost exactly the same!  Definitely not a knock-off - it was from a car that had a bunch of RE Ameniya parts (am currently negotiating with the supplier about their front bumper).

Think it should go with the RE Ameniya bonnet though which has a much wider opening.  Now discontinued but alternatives are available new through some sources and looks like this:

Only problem is that it\'s only available in FRP of carbon and is far too expensive for me!

Yeah, I thought it looked like a custom one, but checked the RE Ameniya site and they were showing very similar pics.

Got a chance to get an RE Ameniya top-mount at a pretty decent price  (cheaper than the market value for the ARC ones).  Was wondering if  anyone\'s had any experience with them and if they are worth getting.  I  know the pros of a FMIC but am just wondering about this top-mount  specifically.

2nd generation RX-7's / Atmospheric blow-off on FC?

Dumb question but you are also blocking the vacuum line going to the BOV, right?

2nd generation RX-7's / Atmospheric blow-off on FC?

Quote from: jimmydanny;729148Try it in longer periods. Might need a new turbo, especially if you run high boost.

This.  I was running 1.8bar in my Evo and the one time I tried without the BOV the sound scared the bejeezus out when I actually thought about what was making it.

2nd generation RX-7's / 20B FC anyone?

I\'ve been offered a 20B from a Cosmo rebuilt by a Japanese tuning company recently for 1250 quid.  Keep trying to talk myself out of it!

Wouldn\'t it affect the MAF though?  Have had this discussion before on an early Evo site as people were putting on VTA BOVs and wondering why the car was stalling when coming off the gas and into neutral.

The MAF will tell the ECU that a certain amount of air is entering the engine, which then calculates an appropriate amount of fuel taking into account throttle position, intake temperature, random bits of witchcraft etc.  When you vent to atmosphere for a short time the ECU will be expecting a higher air volume than is actually entering the engine.  So it will run very rich for a very short time.  Now I don\'t know how sensitive the FC\'s ECU is to that, but I know the Mitsubshi Evo ECU didn\'t like it at all and most people who vented to atmosphere realised the errors of their ways sharpish.

Now on a MAP sensor car, that\'s another matter altogether...

These things are always easy when you know how!

Thanks :)

Now I\'m trying to pull out the rear seat but am not exactly sure how to  do it.  Am I right in thinking you have to push the bottom of the seat  towards the rear of the car to get off the 2 hooks that are on the  front, and then once the bottom lifts up the rest can be unbolted and  pulled out?

2nd generation RX-7's / Wheel size change
November 08, 2010, 12:41:14 PM
Cheers for the advice.  In the end not going for the wheels I first thought about.  Managed to get hold of some R32 GTR wheels which are gonna look pretty nice on it I think.

2nd generation RX-7's / Wheel size change

Am doubting there will be any problem, but can someone just confirm this.  I currently have the following on the FC:

FD stock rims - 16x8 +50mm offset, 225/50R16 tyres and a 20mm spacers on the front

And am looking at a new new potential set of wheels with the following:

BBS rims - 16x7.5 +35mm offset 225/50R16 tyres (and the 20mm spacers on front if needed)

Can\'t get my head around the sizing with offset and such.  How much of a difference is that gonna be?
