2nd generation RX-7's / Amazing garage find FC turbo II
February 10, 2014, 04:56:31 PM
Although FC\'s can look awesome when modified, this one does seem to perfect to mess with - I totally agree about the spacers too, get the wheels spaced out a bit just to fill the arches and it\'ll look amazing!

Awesome example and a great find - nice story behind it too, it\'s good to know it\'s going to be looked after, keep up the good work!

Makes me miss my old FC.. not that it was this clean!

Hey guys,

I\'ve actually had a wanted thread up for a while, but I\'m pretty sure most of you FC owners will be looking in here more often (Apologies if this isn\'t cool)! I used to have a white FC EGI that I loved to bits, and I\'m looking to get into another one with a turbo this time if I can. I\'m pretty open to offers, but I\'m looking for a tin top, not a vert! White would be awesomely ideal, but try me. Some basic mods would be a plus too.

I currently own an S14 which I\'d be willing work into a deal. It\'s a 97 in white, Just taxed and MOT\'d and had a new turbo and gaskets, Stage 1A mods - FMIC, HKS induction, Apex Tubular Manifold, Japspeed Elbow, HKS Hi-Power Silent exhaust, Navan front end, 17x9.5J ET12 Bronze Rota Torques with new tyres, Apex Gen2 Coilovers, all lower adjustable arms - the list goes on a fair bit!

If you\'ve got something you think I might be interested in and/or want to know more about my car for a deal, drop me an email - danfactory@outlook(dot)com.

Cheers guys, hope to hear from some of you :Thumbs-up

Man I miss this car so much, I still love it! This car never ceased to make me smile when I owned it, and I had it on Castle Combe too! Managed to keep up with some cars I really didn\'t expect, and overtake a few ;] I came up and had a chat with you at the last Japfest as well, was ace to see it again.

Glad to see you\'re taking care of it mate, it\'s a keeper. Keep the updates coming, It\'ll look amazing when that arch rust is gone!

Nice to see some of the random stickers I put on it survived! Glad to see it\'s still being loved, I miss this car. Get the rust sorted when you can, I always thought it was the only real thing letting the car down. This car was always good to me :)

Have you tried whacking (nicely :Hammer) the dash above the dials? I think the lights on the bottom corner went out once or twice when I had it and some good \'percussive maintenance\' sorted it!

that\'s some serious work going on. While he is putting an SR20 in it, at least it\'s living on with some pretty awesome treatment!

looks mint, brilliant find for a good price!

2nd generation RX-7's / egi manual to power
April 23, 2011, 11:55:08 AM
I was interested in doing this on mine a while ago, so I\'d be interested to see what other people say, but as far as I could work out it was just the rack pump and bracket. You\'ll need a different belt as well so it can go round the pump don\'t forget!

2nd generation RX-7's / TII engine into an EGI info?
April 01, 2011, 05:37:30 PM
Quote from: Prof;753186It\'s not just engine - that will bolt in in the place of you\'re egi lump, but the loom will be wrong, chances are you\'ve got dizzy / coils so you\'ll need to get the igniter / coil pack units from a TII as well, plus TII ECU and instruments.

Then there\'s gearbox - that\'s different, and prop shaft and diff and half shafts - so basically most of the back end.  Plus exhaust system is likely to be restrictive for a turbo so that needs replacing too.

It\'s a lot of work !

Glad I asked now then - sounds like a ridiculous amount of work! I knew the engine itself would go in place with no problem, but it was the kind of things you mentioned that I was iffy about - so thanks for the info!

2nd generation RX-7's / TII engine into an EGI info?
April 01, 2011, 04:51:43 PM
I\'ve had a quick search, couldn\'t find anything concrete, and it\'s come up in my head more times than I\'d like to mention: How much do you guys think it should cost to drop a TII engine into an EGI? I\'m after a rough complete figure, as if I am to keep my FC, it\'s something I may consider in the future!

Also, are there any huge problems that are typical in this kind of conversion? And any other information that would be useful? Trying to make a very difficult decision at the moment, car-wise!

Cheers guys :driving

2 months later, bump!

If anyone has any ideas of places that might sell rear arch replacements/panels etc, let me know - even if you\'re not 100% sure, I need places to check out! :Thumbs-up
