Quote from: Steve-A;770510I hate to be a vulture, but if they must be scrapped, then I\'m sure someone from here who\'s fairly local to the cars could be arranged to go get valuable bits. I for one would be interested in either of the front bumpers, and I\'m sure the elford turbo parts would be readily snapped up.
Quote from: Steve-A;763944The only thing the kit doesn\'t include is the steering idler arm bush. I kinda hoped it would s it includes all the other bushes to do with steering/suspension, but I can also see that it\'s kinda different type of bush.
Quote from: Ian65;763936Hi Paul,
the kit was totally complete.... all bushes, anti roll bars links, crush tubes, lube, the lot and fantastic quality.... nothing else to buy. That was what put me off the UK and Aussie kits, having to buy extra parts to complete the job... no such worries with the ReSpeed kit.
I paid £140 delivered which included the purchase price ( I bought the full $160 kit), the shipping, import duty and vat.
In order to get the price down, I ordered a kit together with Steve-A and as Billy at respeed shipped both kits together in one box, we shared the shipping, vat and import duty which gave us a total cost of £140 each.
Your best bet would be to try to find someone else who wants a kit as well and share the shipping with them.
Thoroughly recommend the bushes though.
Quote from: Ian65;759662I think when I looked, the rubber bushes from Mazda were quite pricey so I went for polybushes in the end...
Here\'s the ones I bought...

First you release the caliper and pivot up out of the way. 2 hook type springs sit over the top of the pads; these just about fall out. They\'re single ended springs by the way, not broken at one end.
Then get a bit of side play on the pads with a lever to enable them to lift out, complete with the shim backing plates still on. (I think they\'re what you mean). Shim plates will be well rusty by now.....
Reassembly is the reverse procedure except you need to compress the pistons back in to accept the thicker new pads....I used a heavy duty pair of dogs (thanks Lidl...£3 or £4 browse find), with a softwood packer. Need to watch the Master Cyl for overflowing at this point.
White brake grease very sparingly on the rubbing edges of the pads, a minimal white grease film on the shim plates to hold rust in check, then struggle to fit the pads/shims back in. That\'s if they\'re the full size of the backplate like mine were (Mazda ones were trimmed back to allow easy fitting). The full size ones will still go in with a bit of gentle tappy tappy.
Firm up brake peddle then send wife out to brake test and to check wheel nuts are on. Job Done
