Wanted Items / RX8 231
July 20, 2022, 08:45:58 PM
Hi guys, I'm in the market for an RX8. Prefer to buy one with recent compression results, showing healthy engine. Also, I hate rust so no rusty sills, doors or arches please.

What's out there?

Thanks guys, I will certainly get my head and hands under the car and do a good check of those sills and arches.

Hey Clive, nice to be back 😎

Hi guys!

Update, deposit placed on a lovely RX8. Picking up in Sunday so I'll post some picks in here later that day.

Hi everyone, i used to be active on this forum but sold my last FD and FC years ago, but have been tinkering with the idea of getting an RX8!

I used to own a nice black auto FD, a white 1994 FD, a UK silver FD (Reg was B17 REX), a red FD single turbo (engine blew) and a black FC Vert. All fantastic cars and a great forum I remember to chat and learn. Can't believe the prices of FDs nowadays!

I'll be keeping an eye on the classifieds but if anyone has a solid RX8 around £3.5k, please let me know.

Nice to be back!

2nd generation RX-7's / Frustration with fitting springs!
November 07, 2009, 06:03:32 PM
I soaked with some GT85, left it to soak, not for a really log time but it still didnt shift. This may be a daft question but when the shock is mounted in the car is it possible to loosen the top nut?

So the impact gun should turn the nut before the shock rod due to the sudden \'impact\' of the gun yeah?

Yep, I did so that the spring was rotating in the strut.

How do you get the top nut of the rear shock absorber to remove the spring! I tried an impact scredriver with 17mm socket, another nut to turn against, brute force, iron will all that and still no luck....Help?!!

Rarerims do PCD converters for about £80 a pair, and they will convert PCD 114.3 to 120.

HTH.

Yep, 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 but I thought the offset was 25 both front and rear...only a 3mm difference though.

Probably posted up before but this helps out a lot when figuring out if the wheel will fill to the outside of the arch http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Hey Nik, for an FC, but I see your point...Batman were you referring to the FD or FC?
#13
Excellent, thankyou Mr. Batman!

How about these:

Front: 235/40/18 8.5J

Rear:265/35/18 9.5J

Offset of 25-27 approx. I think these would fill the arches nicely, but not sure about the width of the front tyres?

Would these not fill the arches to well then?
