That looks like rusty grinding dust.  Go gentle with it.

Bearing torn of fork snapped.  Look through the lower inspection plate of the gearbox with a torch and get someone to press the clutch pedal. With the engine off. You should see what\'s going on.

Guess you broke it then ?   Got a spare here if you want. Good price.

General Technical / Leak after rebuild
October 24, 2013, 04:36:12 PM
Quote from: HaywardRotary;866556Hey Keith, I have two t88\'s out there that have done loads of miles and been running for over 5 years running bridge ports and making some decent power that aren\'t running restrictors, they are a plain bearing turbo.
Its only ball bearing turbos that need restrictors.
There is something else wrong in this case. it could even be a poor draining issue.

I don\'t dispute that Carl, and like you say oil return can cause the issue.  Garret themselves say that it\'s not generally needed, but may be needed depending on oil pressure. .  As rotary engines have 100psi plus oil pressure they can blow oil past without a restrictor.  Like I said open to debate.

Quote from: HaywardRotary;866517T88\'s don\'t need restrictors.

That\'s open too debate. Hence they don\'t last without one :)

Either end.  Mine is where the feed goes on the turbo.
