Still have my one, she is a 1994 in red with very low mileage on the original engine. I bought the car direct from Mazda UK, and now the car is just a museum peace after being cleaned, serviced and anything that need replacing was done before being placed in secure storage somewhere in West Sussex.

Oh one other thing, she is never ever never to be sold!

3rd generation RX-7's / anyone used these???

Quote from: cyman;730701this is what i have been looking for tbh nice road setup that i can make a little firmer when needed for track days. and considering you can get a full set for £550 delivered it seems to make sense when you can easily end up paying £3-400 for a 10 year old named brand that may have seen better days.

out of interest what spring rates did you guys get when you ordered them??

If I remember correctly mine came factory recomended, ( what they say on their web site) for Gods sake don\'t go any harder!

I always find it strange that so many people who have never tried anything like to condem it!

I have these fitted to my rex, I fitted these after having fitted a set to a powerful Supra. They are well made, fit perfectly, are easy to adjust, and have more settings than you can use.

I am a track day chap, and once you have them set to your type of driving (as with all set ups) you will not be disapointed. In the past I have wasted thousands of pounds on well named brands which have spoilt the feel of the car, and have "blown" in no time.

Go for it, you won\'t be disapointed

I have had this happen to me twice now, however not on an RX7, and on both occasions it was the intercooler pipe to blame. So just check that the pipes are on tight and not split. I have heard of standard intercoolers spliting.

I hope this helps,

Just done mine and soon found out that pressing them out even with a 20 ton press was not ideal.

So I used a hole saw, you can buy these in sets, that way you can find one that is near enough the right size. Pop the hole saw in your electric drill and drill through, the center will fall out, then use a hacksaw, place two cuts  5mm apart in the steel outer, (take care not to score the seat) use a picking tool or a screwdriver to push out the 5mm cut and hey presto!! all done just slip in the new bush. Time to do each one >10< minutes.

Chaps I wonder if you could help me out here, I have just laid my hands on a Dunlop tool that measures camber and castor etc.

Now that is all very well and good, but what do I need to do to simply measure my camber front and back. The tool looks very simple, and I guess that you place the level across the rim top and bottom and adjust the scale to get the reading?

However in my case the tyre walls hold off the level, so the question is should there be a bolt on accessory to allow the tool to touch top and bottom of the rim?

A picture is worth a thousand words!:Hammer

yes I agree with you, all I need is all the wheels facing in the right direction so that I can then drive it to a place that will corner weight it, and set up the camber etc ready for the track.

Quote from: goldk28611;694246so reading the above chart:

Toe measurement 1/16 inch or 0.0625 inch = Toe angle 8.95251minutes

then using my friend google to do the math:
0.0625 inches = 1.5875 millimetres

There you go, your a star!:Thumbsup! cheers for that.

Quote from: bdarepat;694211Read page 1;)

Well I did read that post that took it into degrees, but not having a full understanding of these things, hence the post, and the guy asking for it in metric, I just assumed that it would be a fraction in mm\'s

Chaps!  Just been along to a laser alignment garage to get the wheels facing in the right direction after a massive rebuild of the suspension on my FD. Told the very helpful chappie that I would like 1/16th toe in on the front, he asked what is that in metric? Doh! like I know.

Anyone on here give me a conversion please.

Quote from: David Wiltshire;693732I thought I checked all that and its only recently had a rebuild rad water is clean and blue checked both fans come on. I have thought for a long time that the massive front mounted IC stops any flow of air to the rad which is also behind the A/C rad too

Sorry david I did not realise that you had a fmic, I had a good look at my system the other day and I have to say that now the a/c rad is getting older the fins are not as open now what with corrosion and road dirt. So maybe time to ditch the a/c ?

Not really David, it will be something silly like sluge in the coolant, one fan not working, thermostat not fully opening. So make sure all those things are ok first, and the airways are free from debris.

The normal coolant system for a fairly stock set up is man enough for a track day.

Quote from: neil_jdmr;693635Mate, PHONE YOUR INSURANCE NOW AND LET THEM KNOW ABOUT IT.

Seriously, When i was a young-un a taxi in front at some lights handbrake snapped and he rolled back and hit me. Didnt really cause any damage we both made peace and went about our ways two weeks later my insurance phoned me and said i hit the rear of a taxi and as i failed to inform them i lost any rights whatsoever.

He absolutey creamed me for whiplash, back bumper the lot.

he didnt get away with it without any comebacks tho!!!

Damn it!!! and there I was having a nice weekend! well there was no way he got my number, it was inbedded in the rear of his Astra!

Normally I would have decked him, but I am on strike two at the moment and so I just had to sit there and bite my tounge. ( happy days)

The only reason I am not running to the insurance company is that my car has a clean history and i would like to keep it that way, but thanks for the heads up anyway.
