Quote from: neil_jdmr;662433Chris\'s car is looking sexy as ever and amazing pics mate,

I hope my rex goes to as an enthusiastic owner as you when i eventually sell, it looks a credit to it\'s new owner.

Thanks!

Quote from: turbo boy;662446One of my fav bodykits for the fd. What wheels are they? They look like blitz.

They\'re 18" 3-Piece Blitz Technospeed Z1s. They\'ve been refurbed with the centres sprayed in a pale copper/gold but could do with a very thorough clean and polish. I\'m looking at addressing this issue with a detail sander soon but its gonna be a hell of a job bringing the outer lips back up especially as I can\'t remove them (no spare wheels!). I\'ll figure something out though. :)

Quote from: steve garbutt;662450Ah wondered when Chris\'s car would surface again.
Think hes got an older 911 now.
Looking fantastic as always :D

Yeh he has a 964 shape one I think, maybe the one before than even, love old skool porkers!

Quote from: dreamers;662357nice. very nice indeed.

Where abouts in Somerset are you?

Glad you like it, I\'m in Bristol at Uni at the moment.

Quote from: karl_tate;662361what type of camera and lens are you using??? the pics are awesome :D

always loved this car, used to live quite local to me. the paint correction has made it look new again, bet you are well pleased with the results.

I\'m actually using a bridge camera...well I say bridge but its almost an Slr. Its a Fuji Finepix S100. It has an integrated non changeable lens with a huge amount of adjustable zoom. Very capable camera but its not quite good enough for hdr. I need a proper slr for that really but I\'m making do with this for now. I hope Chris will be happy to see his old rex in good shape. :)

I keep forgetting to post new shots up on here for you guys! Here are some that I\'ve taken over the last month or so. Rx ownership is so much better than I imagined, expensive but worth every penny!

I have more pictures of the Sound Quality focused install that is in development at the moment. I didn\'t feel the car was really mine until I had added my own touch to it. Its already sounding incredible but should be ready for the SQ competition season next year by may. I may post up a thread about the build later.

Enjoy :)

Yep thats Lums. I had the pleasure of driving it a few weeks ago. Very tidy rex, well looked after, the paintwork is immaculate and the bodywork is the genuine Veilside. He\'s on the look out for a set of Andrews to go on it, but they\'re not easy to come by due to the silly offset needed to fill those arches!

Oh nice! I was soo tempted to go and have a look at that, is it still for sale or are you the new owner?

Quote from: D2BBA;633874Did the guy in S....horpe that I sold it to just run out of funds then guv? Seems a shame he let it go after only 3 months or so, but you look like you\'re going to take good care of her:) one tip is to use brasso wadding to shine those wheel rims. Any other info you need just hola!

Chris

Well I dont think it was the funds that were the problem, he relied on garages to do the mechanical work and I dont think paid much attention to the rest :(. Hes after an S15 now as he changes his cars every few months it seems (his jap car ownership history sounded long from what he said). Brasso wadding eh? Im gonna go see if I can find some, funny how you noticed the wheels arent as shiny in the current pics, they\'ve been neglected too :(.

Quote from: Pav;633844Ah really? Im guessing you\'re local to taunton? I wouldnt mind meeting up sometime if you\'re free mate.

Yeah live in Taunton. Maybe a sunday or a decent evening drop us an email mj.webb@btconnect.com and we`ll sort something out.

Mat

Sounds good man, will do in the next couple of weeks. :)

Quote from: rs200tez;634177Gorgeous car sir.... saw it parked up in Halfrauds in Bristol at the weekend. Had a look around - wow!

I was in my Black Alfa 159 at the time...... so you wouldnt have noticed me :-(

lol, I think I saw you drive round, very smart Alfa! I actually work for halfords  on the weekends as I\'m a student in bristol. Do you have an Rx too?

Quote from: mjwebb48;633567Saw you drive through Taunton the other night, think it was thursday last week.

Car looked great.

Mat

Ah really? Im guessing you\'re local to taunton? I wouldnt mind meeting up sometime if you\'re free mate.

Quote from: Jono FD3;633654Agreed, Chris put alot of time & effort in to this car, When I first saw it it was yellow & I thought it looked hidious!!! but once the candy paint work fell on to the body I loved it!! Colour can totaly change the look of a car! Take care of her matey she\'s a stunner  ;)

Jono

I definately agree, the colour choice was both classy and unique, people come up to me on my street as they walk by just to tell me how beautiful it looks! Its quite a system shock owning it. I will take care indeed. The last owner hasnt been very good to the lacquer topcoat, its covered with swirls :(. I have a friend who is able to cut it back carefully and correct it all, should be getting that sorted within the next few weeks!

Quote from: Nik da Greek;633705Welcome to MRC! As above, really, you\'ve wangled one of the most pampered FDs in the country there, I reckon! You couldn\'t have bought one further away could you? Must have been a baptism of fire driving it from the North East to Somerset at not much to the gallon :D

Lol, a baptism of fire now theres a vision. My mate drove me up in his Q7, on the way back he said it spit numerous flames coming off throttle between changes. :InLove

I felt it was well worth the long drive to get it. I did that trip twice too, one to view it and one to collect! It made it back using only about £45 which I thought was quite reasonable. On short journeys though it does guzzle!

Quote from: D2BBA;633712Evening all ;)

Glad to see the car is looking shiney and well cared for!  Many thanks as ever for the comments guys.  I prefer it with the Dobba plate on though, lol!

Im sure youll have many years of joy Pav.

Any thoughts on future mods?

BTW project Porsche 964 is getting well underway :)

Chris

Hey Chris, oooh future mods! Well I\'ve already put some Hids on (that was a must) and I\'ve bought an uprated air temp sensor for future mapping. Im also thinking about getting a Vmount kit of some sort. My intake temps are very high at the moment which is a concern. I\'ve given the Hks elements a good clean as well as had the tracking sorted as the last owner didnt have it done after fitting a set of new Tein super streets (which are uber comfy!).

I eventually plan on bigger secondary injectors, fuel rail, Fpr, Fuel pump and a remap on the stock twins. Im tempted to convert to non-sequential to get rid of that lag on switchover, but its so nice having torque so low down in the revs, great on the motorway in 5th or cruising up a hill!

Good luck with the Porsche too man, looks great from the avatar!
