As title really! I can only find series 5 ones, but I need a set of the s4 ones with the unboltable ball joint ends.

Anyone know where to find a set? I can\'t find any!

Cheers

This really is an incredible car with bloody massive PP\'s.

It\'s honestly the nicest car I\'ve ever heard in the flesh, the idle sounds ridiculous, you can keep your bridge ports, this thing is another planet!

Midrange torque isnt a big deal on a racetrack at race speeds providing it has the gearing to stay in the powerband. You\'ll rarely ever see the rpms to need it.

But its vital where things go slow fast slow. Road, sprint, rally, drift, etc etc, no matter how good a driver you think you are, and no matter what your gear ratios are.

Get in a rotary with a quick spooling turbo and a good boost controller. Drive it once with it running 0.8bar all the way through the rev range. Drive it again where the boost peaks at 1.5bar and slowly tails off to 0.8bar by peak power rpm, so exactly the same peak power level.
Then tell me the difference in real world performance.

Oh yeah. I\'m presuming by that last discussion then that these rallycross guys are idiots who cant drive, and they just need to learn to change gear rather than needing that torque to be competitive, lol.

RX4 looks v.good, I like old skool rotaries.

No, a little 2litre SR20 I\'m afraid.

I\'m not sure if 13Bs are legal in rallycross supercars, but to be competitive with the big boys you need around 600lbft of torque or more (this car has 590), the top guys have almost 700lbft.

I\'d love to see the build pics if you have a link :)

Apologies if this has already been posted.

Mizzi? If so, yeah, small world!

And although it was built in Japan as a pro drift car, to be competitive in drifting the setup needs to be pretty much how a grip/time attack car would be, so its good for either, though not exactly setup for launching too great.
I use it as a general fun car, limiting myself to it being good at just one thing means I wouldnt get much use out of it, so its done loads of drift days, a sprint event, drag runs, and loads of road use.

Koose-
Yeah, I was very impressed with the terminal speed for such a small turbo, thats more than a Audi R8 V10!
I was pretty sure before I started I could push more performance from the tiny little turbo than most say is possible, and im pleased to say the terminal speeds seem to say I was right.
The 1/4mile could be a lot better, as that was still a very slow 2sec 60ft, and very slow gear changes to save the box, and certainly not full throttle shifts. Would be mid or even low 11s with a 1.6 60ft and fast gearchanges, hell, with a serious drag 60ft time and a dog box it would probably see 10s, which is comedy really on a little T04E on a rotary, lol.

To be fair, they do look like biro springs, but the stock ones look like random metal shavings from the floor of a machine shop- swings and roundabouts, lol.

But you are 100% right, the stocko springs are well proven.

I do like the solid corners mind, and ERC who originally built my engine used em, and the RX8 does too, so job done, mind made up I reckon.

Thanks all :)

I did wonder that- I presumed the rounded edges were purely for the rubber insert?

All good and valid points, cheers.

These are the ones I had in mine...

I think I might go for the atkins ones, probably a lot easier than trying to order them from ERC.

Cheers all.

I live 50/50 between Chetlenham and Gloucester.
Ive rarely seen any RXs round here, just a few, 3 of them friends of mine. Only one once when I was in mine, drove past a dark green (i think) FD broken down at Morrissons petrol station when we was out checking AFRs. TBH most people realise my car is an RX7.

I previously had solid ERC corner seals (and I think I have lost one, so cant re-use them despite no damage) which had no provision for rubber plugs, but I got new ones now regardless. Didnt know about the inconel, but just didnt like the standard spring style, despite it clearly working.

Hmm, interesting. Hard choice really.

As title really.

In theory they look a big improvment, I was pretty bemused when I saw the normal style, though they clearly do work, so wondered if the Hurley ones in actual working conditions really equate to being better?

Any experiences welcomed
