General Technical / Heat Warning Light ?
March 28, 2011, 08:14:59 PM
Hi all.
been a while since i posted anything about my 3rd gen type r because it has been running well since i emptied my wallet into it ha ha, just one quick thing, it is still running great does not lose any fluid oil & water the temps of Oil & Water on my aftermarket gauges read normal but whenever i put my toe down in 2nd gear now the heat icon flashes until i either change up or slow down, it seems weird to me as the car feels like it is running well.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and i look forward to meeting some of you at upcoming events lets all prey the weather is good this year.
Cheers

General Technical / Water Leaking is it my fault?
July 07, 2010, 06:05:39 PM
Hi thanks for the advice . i am filling from the one in the middle i generally keep the one to passenger side off as well and when that overflows from filling the middle then i know its about full. When i replaced the cap on the one to the right and put a bit more in the one in the middle that is when it started to leak from what looks like the expansion one underneath somewhere any more suggestions would be helpful but think i will strip that part to see where it is actually coming from for peace of mind.

General Technical / Water Leaking is it my fault?

Hello all.
Recently got my 3rd gen back on the road thanks to the guys at WGT. Have recently topped up my cooling system after a couple of good weekend blasts and think i may have overfilled the system because around the expansion tank water has been leaking onto the floor i was wondering if anyone knows if this is normal if you overfill them ( i.e is there an overflow pipe that the water can escape from) i have left it a couple of days and checked the level with expansion tank dipstick and that reads well full. Just wondered if anyone has had an experience of this before i strip my engine top find where its coming from.

General Technical / Please Advice needed
April 11, 2010, 03:56:10 PM
Hi all.
I have recently undertaken the project of changing my heater matrix as it was leaking, i have removed most of the dash ( Steering wheel gear box cover and all plastics) I have now removed all the necessary bolts pulled the dash and found an absolute shambles of wiring behind the dash intertwined into it so i cant remove the dash properly and it would mean chopping some of these cables and reconnecting which i am afraid to do as i dont have very much experience with auto wiring. Can anyone tell me what sort of price i would be looking at for someone like WGT to tidy up this wiring problem and fit the Heater matrix for me as i have just come in from another day working on it and have hands that look like a ferrul cat has been at them.
Cheers.

General Technical / Dashboard Removal Please Help!!
February 20, 2010, 03:07:20 PM
Hi all.
Can someone please be my saviour and give me instructions on how to remove the Dash from my 94 RX7 import. I have recently bought a new Heater Matrix as the one that is in is currently leaking and keeps soaking my carpet on the passenger side and blowing my Apex unit. I have read some threads but they aint been much help as some people say its able to be done without removing the whole dash and others disagree. I really need to know which bolts to remove and the order to do this in and whether taking things like the steering wheel off is necessary.
Any help would be appreciated as i really need to get this job done soon as the weather is picking up and i would love to get it back on the road.
Cheers.

Insuring your rotary / Help Needed
January 09, 2010, 01:03:10 PM
Hi all.
Well its the start of a new year and my pride and joy is in the garage after having many months of festive work done on her she is a 1994 RX7 typeR immaculate and i try to keep her that way has had an engine rebuild by WGT and various performance and engine saving mods done.
So now is time to look for insurance again. The last company i went with was Adrian Flux who didnt quote me badly for my first year it was 780 but that did include commuting. Have decided this year to just use the car for weekends and attending shows, so can anyone tell me the best insurer i can contact i am 30 in April and this is my only car, as i am only 2 miles from my workplace and i am on my girlfriends insurance to use her car whenever needed. I will not use mine to commute anymore as i now cycle ha ha (bit of a performance dip). Anyway rambling again, if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated and hope to see some of you soon at upcoming events.
Cheers.
