Quote from: Mark Ide;834041Could you do the classic one in red? It was in red on \'93 Jap Black FDs
Thanks
Mark

There\'s a red plastic in the available material, but the finish is grainy.

Better to take the with polished one and then paint it up... :D

Here\'s the pics of finished prototype, painted with silver and efini script filled with black enamel:

Need some refinish and definitly not to be done in that material, too hard to smmoth it well... Fortunately, there\'s another plastic, very smooth, that can be used.

Here\'s the center caps too, simbles painted with AlcladII Chrome:

Surface is smoothed with 2500 wet sandpaper, but with a 3000 or a polishing paste would be even better.

I think I\'ll put the RX-7 Efini logo on sale at 20-25€ directly from site (unpainted), to have it painted (you choos color) from 40 to 50€ depends on colours.

Another project: efini wheel center caps

the cap and the emblem are detachable, with centering pins, to be sprayed separately

I\'m going to paint everyhing, the badge and the center caps, and post results.

I\'m thinking of selling this: directly from Shapeways for people who want to paint them by themself or from me with painting service... :D

Quality, innovative parts for the FD RX7

Hi Mart

I can ssure you is not a mock up of your work, I\'ve taken the logos og the RX-8 nd CX-7 from the web, and design the efini badge by myself, all with Rhinoceros, wioth 3d printing in mind...

My plans are to do them in plastic, so they can be painted even in chrome finish.

Quote from: Prof;824492Can you make them out of a clear plastic ?

I make them on Shapeways.com, they have a lot of materials, and also a clear plastic, a bit frosted... :)

http://www.shapeways.com/materials/frosted_detail

I choose to make the prototype in Alumide, a mix of plastic and aluminum powder, that make it stronger.

Hello guys!

I\'ve saw around that someone uses RX-8 amd CX-7 original badges to create a sort of new logo for the FD.
So I think to go further on this: I\'ve also tried to reimagine the efini logo, put everything in a 3D rendering software and send it to be printed in 3D.
That\'s the result:

In the next days I\'ll go with the paint and update the thread.
I\'ve made other style too... These are the 3D rendering:

I\'ve tried to make the classic one too:

If the result is good I think to begin to sell them :D

3rd generation RX-7's / Exhaust manifold studs
January 17, 2012, 06:52:57 AM
Quote from: mcon;807658Have you got the Lower Intake manifold on yet.

so four of the ones pictured for housing to manifold

I think there are 6 of the same from manifold to turbo. With two of the longer bolts in the middle holding a gasket and plate onto the turbos and into manifold, there are two smaller ones for the same plate aswell.
Then four for the down pipe

No, the manifolod is down, and the studs on the housing are up.

Ok, let\'s say that from manifold to turbo and from turbo to down pipe, we have 2 kinds of studs: big ones (circled in red) and small ones (circled in blue).
I need to know how many of each one are needed in the 2 section.

Car is 1996 FD Bathurst

3rd generation RX-7's / Exhaust manifold studs
January 16, 2012, 10:57:48 PM
Hi guys

I\'m trying to putting back my long block, but I\'m struck in the forst step: putting up turbos... :(

When I take out the engine about 1 and 1/2 year ago, 1 of the exhaust manifold to turbo studs broke, and only recently I manage to take it out completely.
Now I have a bunch of studs and 1 long bolt, I can\'t figure how how many studs I need, the parts diagram say are need 5 stud of a type and 1 stud of another, but I have 8 holes... and also the long bolt you can see in the pics...

Someone help me please!!!
I will take them from Atkins Rotary (http://atkinsrotary.com/store/home.php?cat=807), but don\'t know which one to order... :(

Hi everybody.

I\'m upgrading suspension on one FD of the crew here ("yo, bro\'...":rollin).
We have taken apart everything to install new suspension, new bushing, new everything.
The boots of the ball joints of tehe rear anti-sway bar control link aer a little weared, one is cracked too.
Mazda dealer have only the complete link, that cost 100€+21%VAT...
Do you know where to find only the rubber boot? The ball joint are fine, don\'t want to spend too much money for something I don\'t need!!!

Here\'s the part from the part diagram manual:

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / How many of us lose faith?
December 10, 2011, 08:17:26 AM
When I start to loose faith in rotary, I watch to pistons engine and al problems they have and, most of all, how much expensive they are to rebuild...

A friend of mine spend the same money I use for a whole engine just to do the heag of the engine (valves, camshaft, etc...)

Then I think to the sound of rotary, and love and faith come back... :D

1) no, you don\'t touch that screw anymore
2) this is the procedure to make a base, safe map. Before doing this you have to reset the ECU, so you\'ll lost the WGT map.
