I need to get access to the back of the cluster cover so I can tighten up the 2 screws which hold the retractor switch in place as it’s become loose...

Anyone know the quickest way to get the cluster cover off and gain access to the back of the switch?

Would I need to remove the whole cluster for the front cover to come off or does it pop off from the cluster?

Any help appreciated.

Hi Scott, I\'m just in the process of installing a Bosch pump in-tank and i\'m also doing the rewire.  I needed to ask you a couple of things and i\'ve sent you an email to see if you can help me out...

Gandy - hi, and thanks for your comments..

Jit - nice to meet you mate.  I also was also very suprised that the engine needs a rebuild so soon.  The car was driven less then 500 miles in my ownership, before it collapsed.

Hopefully she going to be back on the road soon.

Hi Shaun, nice to meet you mate.

With regards to the warranty, basically the car was sold with an engine warranty only later to find out that the warranty never exsisted and that it had expired months before the car was placed for sale by the owner. Therefore the problem has nothing to do with pip. Thankfully the matter has now been resolved with the previous owner.

i got pics of the car, but i\'m not a full member here!

Hi guys, I just joined here but have been lurking around on MRC for the past 2 years or so because I always had a keen interest in the RX7 and the rotary scene. After looking at some of the horror stories on forums, I was really put off, and it was touch and go whether I would ever purchase an RX7. Even after looking at many other sports cars, the rx7 still won my heart, so I took the plunge on purchasing an rx7 in early August last year. The vehicle was a 92 rx7, street ported, changed to a non sequential turbo setup with a number of mods done to the vehicle. The vehicle had been rebuilt and mapped by WGT, with only 4k on the new engine and a remaining warranty.

Cut the long story short, I used the vehicle for less than 500 miles when the inevitable happened. I drove the car literally down the road from my house when the engine lost all power, sounding just like a lumpy Harley Davidson:eek:. I managed to pull the car over and switched it off, as I did not want to cause any further damage. Called the good old AA man but if never had a clue and said the best he could was to call low loader truck and have it towed home.

I had the engine checked and one of the rotors has lost complete compression:eek: whilst the other seems to be firing fine.

The engine is currently being removed by Laeeq and will be rebuilt by JayDee with one of his famous street ports. This engine will also be accompanied with a 1 year warranty or 12k. After the boring 1000 mile run in, JayDee will also be mapping the car. I’m also looking to go single at the same time:mmmm.
I’m currently on the look out for a Greddy 3 row intercooler or similar, a Garret/HKS T04S complete turbo kit and a Trust/HKS 80 mm high flow silenced midpipe. If anyone wants to part with any items mentioned, please leave a reply..
On completion of my engine, I will have some parts up for sale due to changing to single turbo. I will post the parts for sale when they become available.
Thanks for reading chaps and hope to see you guys around:driving.
