You could try the local Mazda dealers - I had my RX7 compression test done by the dealer near to the seller. I think the same tool for RX8\'s does 7\'s.

3rd generation RX-7's / What\'s special edition
July 07, 2011, 04:39:31 PM
Mine\'s a RB with the S-pack too.

I think the \'Special Edition\' that keeps being referred to comes off the build sticker in the door jamb, as apparently they all show \'Special Edition\' for the \'99 builds on. Pre \'99\'s you\'d see \'Bathurst\' for example for those editions, but from \'99 it was left as \'Special Edition\'. I think there was a thread on here which had details of the build stickers and photos - you\'ll need to search around for it though :2Confused

Quote from: skybusr34;755599where does it say the owner doesnt like it?? i personally would love a spirit r over any uk rx7. regardless of how many horse power o how expensive the body kit is..

the spirit r is the rx7 at its best. rarer than hens teeth. that low miles. why is it not worth it. same sort of money as a 2004 996 turbo. i know which i`d rather have!!!

i have a 2000 rs with 20k miles on clock.. which is completey stock in every way. im building up to one.. i will have a spirit r one day

When I say the seller doesn\'t like it enough to keep it - put yourself in their place. Would you, having a love for the RX7 and having sourced the ultimate version and got it all the way home, then just put it up for sale? Looks to me as though they are just in it for the profit.:2Rolleyes

Probably why I paid top dollar for my RB-s - but then it had only done 11k miles by the time I got it. :wiggle

And it had been registered new in the UK in 2001 - mind you it was a 1999 build and had sat in the Surrey Mazda dealership for those intervening few years.

Just a shame that the seller doesn\'t love the RX7 enough to keep it - looks like they just want to make money out of it.

Found this Spirit R on Pistonheads today.
I\'m afraid I don\'t think the blue suits the Spirit R (decals don\'t seem to stand out that well - much better on the white or reds) and the price is a little steep. But its in the UK, registered and for sale - for anyone that has cash to splash!

Maybe for a Christmas pressie? :Santa

(P.S. It\'s not mine - I\'m happy with my \'99 RBs)

I. C. E. & Electrical / Cold Air Vents help please
September 29, 2009, 04:07:47 PM
I may be wrong (usually am) but I suspect its designed to put less heat through the face vents than elsewhere as most people like toasty feet and cool noses! Going back 10 years (or more) car reviews would often bemoan the fact that you couldn\'t achieve a warm feet / cold nose balance, but Mazda always seemed to be noted for designing their cars to operate like that. My un-modified 1999 is the same - some warmth from the face vents but most going to feet or the screen.

3rd generation RX-7's / Help Help Help
August 20, 2009, 04:25:00 PM
If you haven\'t already, run through the items for sale section and contact those people that seem to be breaking their FD3S\'s - you may be lucky. And if that doesn\'t get results, then keep watching as breaking car posts do come up from time to time. Sadly Mazda didn\'t make the RX7 unbreakable/rustproof/iimmortal(!).

Not to worry - a long trek from Horsham (assuming that\'s where you are coming from) and its just an informal pub-based gathering. If only 2 or 3 people attend then there could be scope to arrange further meets - watch this space.

I think its best to stick with rotaries for this meet as the Hampshire Jap Car Club are meeting this coming Sunday in the area (details covered on http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58907) - you might want to pass that info on to your other forum.

Thanks.
