Just wondering if anyone has any spare or knows the sizes/thread etc of these bolts

Cheers,

General Technical / FC3S Temp issue.
November 24, 2014, 08:18:53 PM
i think its a good plan to change the thermostat and temp sensor. did you have a feel of the rad hoses? were they cold also? if cold most likely blocked thermo.

if a new thermo doesnt solve the issue i would flush the rad and see if its blocked.

if the problem continues i would look at the water pump to see if it is actualy pumping anything. although i think even if it was broken, the rad would still get hot by conduction.

kinda seems like the issue is with the thermo not opening, therefore no coolant to rad therefore cold

hand brake should work with out needing to bleed brakes.
i have all the brake lines off my FC currently and is just being held by hand brake

2nd generation RX-7's / top hose electric fan switch
September 15, 2014, 11:08:58 PM
the probe actually just slots between the rad fins. have not fully tested it out yet to see where is best to mount.
but i think i read online that just needs to be top corner, where the upper rad hose is, somewhere around there should be the hottest point- not sure if this is correct.

you could slide the probe into the rad itselft, under the rad hose. but i didnt like that idea, as thought it wouldnt get a good seal, and i didnt want to risk the probe breaking and flying around the coolant system

i bought this for my set up.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200929164720

just wired it up with a maxi fuse and relay

used this as a guide for wiring - http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/efaninstall.htm
i chose to use the 1st wiring diagram, so the fan will stay on after the car is switched off, to help cooling

Tested it out today, it is a themo switch.

But it turns on at such low temps. So is pretty much on all the time.
So will need to replace it with a thermo switch with a higher temp setting, or a variable one.

Also noticed a small oil leak from the omp block off plate, seems on of the screws isn\'t catching any thread so is loose.

breaker yard wanted stupid money for the c180 fan. wanted £180 lol.

so just ordered a 16inch ebay fan - states supplys >200CFM and was only 26 quid including postage.

on another note - i read that MK1 MR2 fans are a decent fit
