1986 FC EGI For Sale £5000

I've had this car about 3 years when I bought the car, it had been off the road and dry stored for around 10 years, I recommissioned the car, full professional calliper overhaul by bigg red replacement clutch slave and master cylinders and it's not missed a beat since.

Car has a valid MOT with no advisories and is ready to drive away.

The car is totally bone stock even down to the oem Clarion radio and comes with loads of history the origional service book and all origional manuals.

111k on the odometer however a replacment reconditioned engine was fitted back in 1995 with invoice to prove.

The car has some minor surface rust on the rear arch lips but they are solid and to the bottom of the front wings, structurally however the car is soild with no hidden rust or rot underneath.

The passenger side door window trim is corroded however a brand new mazda oem replacment trim is included with the car.

It has the love it or hate it burgundy interior personality I love it.

This car us a proper unmolested time warp example and would suit a collector or enthusiast.

If you really want to kill it drifting that's your call as you can see it's solid and currently unmolested.

The only reason I'm selling is that I have recently moved house and dont have the garage space to store the car inside otherwise I'd be keeping it. Price is £5000.

Now that photo bucket wants a small fortune to host images for use on forums what hosting sites do people recommend that don't want crazy fees?

I don't mind a paid service if its good although free is better as it leaves more money for car parts.

Are any sort of membership packs available as a paid member key rings, stickers that sort of thing? If so how are they requested please?

Awesome don't get me wrong I also love drifting as a sport. I just hare the banger racing element that seems to be taking over and don't get me started on those "Missile" cars.

I still think drifting is what killed most of the FC coupes when they were super cheap and not worth the cost of a rebuild at the time in most peoples eyes.

I'm also bitter and twisted as I sold my last FC to a "drifter" who ruined the car and killed the engine, then when I was looking to buy it back to save it he wanted 10 X what I sold him it for with no interior as it was now a drift spec car. ha ha and breathe.

Thanks Clive I've never lost the bug its just I couldn't afford rotary ownership while I was building other projects and buying a house etc.

My rotary tattoo is a testament the fact I've been a rotary addict since the first time I got in one. I've never stayed away from forum lurking for long and still have a collection of rare bits garage.

I promised myself that I would do things right when I came back to the rotary word. For me that means having them as cherished cars that are used in the summer months due to the salt, along with secure indoor storage so if they do ever need to be laid up while awaiting funds for whatever they can be.

Also I have researched as much info on rotary's as I can absorb. I now have a small library's worth of Books on Wankel engines, rotary tuning, rotary cars history and RX-7's. I also firmly believe if you cant do it right don't do it at all. So if I have to wait to save up or hone a skill to carry out work or mods I will, rather than half arse or try and do something on the cheap.

I am now fortunate enough to be in a position where I feel can do those things ,besides if I didn't get another FD soon I probably couldn't the way the prices are heading.

Anyways I'm rambling again so I'll stop myself.

New to MRC - introduce yourself / Returning Rotor Head
December 03, 2017, 09:15:45 AM
Im Matt a returning rotary fan from the North Yorkshire of England

After regretting the sale of my previous FD and FC's around 7 ish years back I have been lurking and wanting to get back into a rotary car again.

This summer I came across a 1986 FC that had been dry stored for 10 years resistance was futile so I bought it. (build thread to follow). More recently I sold my S2000 and that allowed me to put a deposit down on what will be my 3rd black FD (lets hope I have more luck with this one)

Anyways that's enough rambling from me. I have just renewed my full family membership so hopefully I'll be meeting some fellow rotary fans over the coming months.

No doubt ill be seeking and sharing advice over the coming years as unless circumstances dictate otherwise I have no intentions of ever selling my RX-7's again.

looking good I love to see a well executed resto mod project. It's nice to see what looks to be quality work happening.

I never cease to be amazed by the shite quality bodges lots of owners and plenty of "professionals" try to pass off as acceptable and safe work when I come across them.

Drifters or for the most part banger races as I like to label most of them are the worst by far IMHO, they seem to think because a car is only for track use it can be full of downright dangerous shoddy work.

Respect for putting the effort in to save this car from its previous dubious mods. I'm not a fan of V8 swapping any rotary car, (although I can see the appeal and what petrol head doesn't love a V8) but in this case its already done so you may as well make sure its done right.

3rd generation RX-7's / FD running issues
August 10, 2009, 04:27:45 PM
Not looking good Ive just done a compresion test on my own using a standard compresion tester. I tried to catch each rotor face judging by the puff coming from the other housing, then looking at the reading insted of keeping the button pressed in and watching the needle bounce. Readings were as follows rear 6,6,6 front 6,4,2 or possibly 6,4,4 either way its not good.
