Does all this progress mean that Matt and I can expect you on a trackday with us soon?

My house in the UK is in Little Lever - which part of Bolton are you from? Get some pics up so I can keep an eye out when I\'m there...

Oh, and WGT is really the only place to go up north for all your Rex needs.

Hope that helps.

Could you not use custom rotors without such a deep recess in the faces? That would decrease capacity but one-off rotors can\'t be cheap!

To be honest, people who think of inventive re-homing for rotaries aren\'t burnt at the stake. Putting a piston engine into an RX is asking for a lynching though ;)

Quote from: Nik da Greek;746298since we are in fact currently governed by what amounts to an unelected dictatorship with little or no mandate from the populace.

Disagree with you here Nik, I think the election of a coalition government and the ousting of Labour was an accurate representation of the ill feelings towards any one party being in power.

I\'ve seen more common sense from Cameron and co. since their election than in all the years under Blair with his frivolous policies and spending.

3rd generation RX-7's / Rev counter reading high
February 27, 2011, 05:21:05 PM
People generally only sell the complete cluster, expect to pay between £40 and £50.

But you can replace just the faulty gauge. You might find one of your others goes wrong too, so it\'s handy to have a spare lying around. Also means you retain the true mileage reading.

Common problem fella, something to do with the capacitors Mazda used in the dials. You\'ll have to get another one and replace the entire rev counter unit.

General Technical / Clunking noise
February 24, 2011, 08:07:37 PM
This seems to be the number one possibility with mine. But its intermittent nature is the confusing bit. I\'ve had bearings go on other cars and it was a constant drone.

Dave and Pip figured it could be a bearing just outside tolerance, getting warm and knocking before cooling off. But there\'s no play in the wheels when jacked up. Odd.

I had something like this too. No damage to the diff, all new bushes, sounds and feels like a flat tyre at the back. No idea what caused it but it was intermittent, regardless of being on or off the power.

Would build up, then fade away, only time it got much louder was if I touched the brakes.
