Cheers bud this is a help, not really fussed about the rear camber. So all I can really ask for is a stock inlignment front & back, i\'ll do the camber on the front myself.

2nd generation RX-7's / Wheel Inlignment & Tracking
January 17, 2011, 02:49:46 PM
Ok so on my FC I am running coilovers all round (fronts have camber adjustment) on 18" wheels all round with 25mm spacers up front & 30m spacers on the rear, ride height is pretty low but not stupid also running with a set of rear dtss eliminators. So think after all these mods I should go visit the garage to get my inlignmet & tracking looked at.... my question is kind adjustment can I expect, if any?? If any has anyone got so decent tried & tested angles (looking for more of a drift set up) to get set up once I get her in to have the work done, much thanks??

Cheers for the info, sadly my partner didn\'t like the MX6 enough & seeing as the car is mainly hers as I have the rex as my car then I had to let her get her other choice which was a 5th gen Honda Prelude, shame but hey ho. Thanks for all the help & advice guys :)

Dam that will be good fun, although in the wet I think it will be a bigger death trap with such a short wheelbase! But looks a very tidy job, hope he gets good money for it.

Sounds pretty alright then, thanks for the advice guys... the one im looking at looks very tidy in Jap red (surprisingly unfaded), 99k on the clock, loads of history, years mot, full leather trim, air con, electric everything & very tidy alloys.

Anyway of telling if she is an import, take it would be the usaul tell tell signs like kilometers on the speedo etc?

What they like for fuel?? Compared with an everyday car not an RX7 (thats just cheating ;))

General Technical / Electric fans

Not a direct fit but with very little modification a electric fan & cowling out of a Merc C180, its massive & does the job nicely, pulls .... loads of air & you can feel the car shake from its draw but couldn\'t tell you what amount of air its does really pull!! Well worth doing & got both the fan & cowling from my local scrappy for £20 so bargain!!

2nd generation RX-7's / Diff options
October 26, 2010, 06:36:10 AM
You can use the 1.8 mx5 diffs as well.

Its a good idea to have an open diff & welder but once you have changed it twice, you won\'t be rushing to do it again its a pig of a job!
So i just left the welder in but it won\'t be ideal on the track, but which ever you do choose to go for, would really reccomend as dthebuk pointed out, getting hold of some solid rear mounts & a diff snubber (also if you wanna drift loose the dtss\'s) as this gives you a really solid diff & subframe, taking any play out & giving you a very perdictable back end.

QuoteJames H do the solid diff mounts really make a difference? I was running a welder and silly suspensions and dtss eliminators and i just couldn\'t take it anymore! Infact it almost made the car impossible to sell!!

Solid diff mounts & a snubber def made a difference, it just made parking & slow turning alot more pleasent! The back end feels so solid & perdictable :)

QuoteJames, do you know if the n/a diff housing is a direct swap for the TII one - I wonder about drive half shafts and the prop shaft length - although I\'d suspect that was the same ?

No sadly the TII housing & drive shaft are different, pretty sure the TII half shafts are the same thou. But you could always get hold of a n/a housing & just have your drive shaft shortened although saying that to have your drive shaft shortened aint cheap!

I do know that that MX5 torsen is a straight swap but only into the n/a diff housing.
