Rotary and General Chit-Chat / My RX7 is now sold
March 06, 2011, 07:46:09 AM
I have sold my RX7 to a local guy in the Hampshire Jap Car Club and I will be advising him to join this forum because in my time here I have found the degree of technical know how beyond value despite being a guest all this time.
Due to changes in my business I need a long distance comfortable cruiser as I have to pop up to Faslane and other places up North at the drop of a hat and have found flying a real pain so I have bought a Mercedes Benz CL 55 AMG thats the one with a supercharger and 500 BHP plus for long journeys air conditioned seats with a massage feature so its very comfortable and about as quick as the RX7

If you want let me know your budget and I\'ll keep an eye out in the Lotus meetings for any nice ones that may come up.

I\'m in the process of selling my RX7 at the moment its been on Pistonheads since Saturday and I have had 5 serious enquiries interestigly enough a white Bathurst similar to mine was £8995 and has now dropped to £8450 since my advert appeared its hasn\'t got a rebuilt engine or an expensive number plate in the deal though

It was good to meet up with your group yesterday, just a pity the other RX7\'s from HJC didn\'t turn up, but I\'ll be having a word so perhaps next time we can swell the ranks of RX7\'s to at least 4

Weather is now looking o.k. for this hopefully a few from HJC will be along.

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Considering Selling My FD

The later cars 1998 onward have the nicer interior and you can get the S4 and GT3 for reasonable money but if finance permits the very late 2002 V8\'s are superb cars but tend to go for £20K plus but they have had all the little niggles sorted and are really really nice cars.

As someone who has owned a Lotus in one form or another for the last 30 years I can assure you they have to be bought with nearly as much caution as an RX7 and if you are lucky enough to buy a good one you still have to devote a lot of time on them, for the sort of money you would have to spend on a decent one you could get a really good late import RX7. I\'m not saying that there is anything wrong with a Lotus but they do need to be looked after and getting a good one is a major quest in itself, if you find the local Lotus Club owners group they are on the whole a really nice helpfull bunch of people.

They\'re normally monthly, but looks like the next scheduled one is down for September..

Will see if I can do some digging..

I\'m sure we\'d be welcome to tag onto Shropshire Japanese Car Club\'s prescence there too initially and then see if it catches on amongst us on MRC :) It would be great if it did! :D

Following the link you gave I\'ve just noticed my Subaru SVX is featured in one of the photos its the silver one with the number plate B1RMA

I went along to one of these with the Subaru SVX owners club (6 cars) last year its a good meeting organised by Pistonheads and the museum is one of the best I\'ve been to theres a TSR2 amd loads of unique aircraft really worth it just for the museum

Well France did turn up and it was a good game which I enjoyed, every year I say to my wife Italy are going to make a good team one year then I realise I\'ve been saying that every year for the last five but again that was quite a good came too

I\'ve put up a post inviting RX7 owners and the other MX5 owners on HJC for this one, so so far there is at least one RX7 (me) coming along.

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / 6 nations predictions 2011

Wow Archbish all hail to you for predicting that one!
But the Welsh weren\'t exactly on fire were they, lets just see if the French are firing on all cylinders (is that the right way to put that on a rotary site) this afternoon.

I\'ll see if I can gather a few FD owners from the Hampshire Jap Car club to come along as there are at least 5 FD\'s in the club at the moment.

I\'m really looking forward to the start of the 6 Nations although not sure about your prediction all I know is that probably Scotland and Italy will be at the bottom and expect France to top the table with England 3rd/4th maybe despite the form in recent games

I\'ve just reached the Endurance series and quite frankly can\'t be bothered to continue, it may just be I have a short attention span or something but to sit in front of the game for 2-4 hours is in my opinion a waste of my time and just can\'t bring myself or my B spec driver to partake.
Highlights of the game the lovely Mazda\'s the 110 sport cosmo the RX7\'s and the Furai haven\'t won the other one yet and the Lexus concept that can be used for the German DTM fantastic car. The low spots those lardy arsed Nascar things what a waste of time and heap of junk they are and the historic race where you manage to \'bully\' your way through only to crash on the last lap I\'ve given up with that one as well. All in all a good game but have returned to Fallout New Vegas until the seasonal updates come around again.
