General Technical / Fitting standard rear bumper
January 11, 2009, 06:03:05 PM
Hi guys

As above I have got a Mazda OEM FD3S rear bumper to fit onto my car.  The bumper has three threaded studs either side of the bumper to attach onto the rear quarter panels,  anyone know the sizes of the nuts required?

I\'m planning to get some Nylon lock nuts, but if standard is easier then I\'ll get them.  As you can imagine it\'s not easy trying to lug a bumper down to the local hardware store to measure up :Giggle

Any info will be good

Thanks

Hi All :WaveBye

As above, planning to do a full respray (from black to white), maybe fit a new body kit, but generally need a good bodyshop contact.

I live in Cambridgeshire area. Don\'t mind travelling, but somewhere within good distance preferred i.e. within England - midlands or south of.

Has anyone had good experience of a respray and can recommend a company with good facilities and good quality of work? Indication of cost would be good.

I want to put together a short list, need as much names as possible for me to visit, preferrably if a member has had work done there before.

Any advice appreciated :Thumbsup!

Thanks

3rd generation RX-7's / Exhaust set-up
September 23, 2008, 08:32:38 PM
Forgot to mention, want to run a de-cat as well, so hunting for one, I suppose I have to take this into account when considering noise levels?

Are these typically in the £200 region? Any particularly good ones?

Oh.  Anyone shed some light  on the FD exhaust layout?

I Used to own a DC2 type R

The layout was \'Exh. Manifold - Cat - Exhaust backbox/catback\'

Can someone explain this in similar way, as I haven\'t looked under the car yet.

Thanks for the reply

I would love t have the REA dolphin exhaust, but if it\'s the same result noise wise then that\'s not much help to me.

The custom set-up is an interesting option, I might explore further.

Does anyone that does regular trackdays around the country in an FD, let me know their set-up or opinion?  Thanks:Thumbs-up

3rd generation RX-7's / Exhaust set-up

Hi All

I have a Kakkimoto Full Mega N1 exhaust without a bung it registers 107dB at 4500RPM. With a bung on it reads 99.7dB:eek: I lose 0.2 bar of boost and it\'s no fun and it doesn\'t feel right. I run a T04e single turbo @ 0.9 bar.

My question is: from your experience, in order to go onto most track days under 105dB what exhaust do you recommend/run that works? I need one that also does not restrict too much power.

I\'m thinking of the REA dolphin exhaust or HKS hi-power silent.
I also need to get a de-cat pipe, any help or pointers?:cool

Any help appreciated

Cheers

General Technical / Radiator hose size
July 02, 2008, 09:35:36 PM
Quick question guys.

Does anybody know the diameter of the standard FD radiator hose (the one from the filler)? If anyone knows the internal diameter then even better.:Thumbsup!

I\'m trying to get the water sensor adapter piece but don\'t know what size to get, anyone have any experience?

Also, if anyone knows the thread size for the oil sandwich adapter plate for oil temp and pressure then that\'s fab:Thumbs-up M18 or M20??

If anyone has fitted Defi gauges then please shed some light.

Thanks

3rd generation RX-7's / Bride Zeta III
June 09, 2008, 10:46:58 PM
Hi All

can\'t find much about this on the search.

But has anyone tried to fit the Bride Zeta III seat to their FD? I am thinking of getting one but was wondering will it fit with the bride side mounts. I heard the shoulders might hit the door card as they are quite wide at 590mm.

I tried to measure it off the OE seat and it was tight but just enough assuming the position is similar to the OE seat centre.

If anyone has fitted any other Bride fixed type bucket seats to their FD then I\'d like to know what options are available.

Any advice please?

3rd generation RX-7's / Carbon ganador mirrors

Hi there

I\'ve been thinking about these mirrors.  Do they cover the hole left by the OEM mirror position in the door?
