February 13, 2012, 09:07:53 AM
If I recall correctly the bike ones where made by a company called flip top, I looked long and hard for one years ago but couldn\'t find one do I decided to make my own but couldn\'t work out a simple mechanism to make the plate fold

General Technical / Air Fuel Ratio??
February 27, 2010, 05:00:43 AM
I run 16:1 in all cruise areas, no problems and I actually get half decent fuel economy doing a steady 80 on the motorway

Oh yes , I\'ll be there next time (missis permitting) , had a good day , good weather , good company and one good (ish) run

Karl , I was running , not my best day but managed a 13.4 which I was sort of happy with considering it was virtually un-preped (12.8 was my previous best on a 1/4 mile of superglue at pod :D) , I actually managed to come 11th on the day

Matt , can you let me have your email so I can email that stuff over

A1 is easiest for me as I\'m only a stones throw from junction 58 but I\'m easy , I\'ll just go with the flow

Yeah all sorted mate

As long as someone reminds me I\'m there , cleared it with the missis so thats all cool
#10
if someone can remind me ( my memory is shot these days ) I may well come down , I may even run seeing as I had such a bad time at RS , need to get some decent times this year
#11
ah I see , you left the charcoal canister in and just got rid of the underbonnet stuff like I was thinking , take it you didn\'t add a filter to the end of the hose
#12
well thats the only reason I could think off but surely if the car is sat for a long period without being started it would have the same effect as there being no vent
#13
cool , so in theory I could just pop a small filter on the end of the metal hose in the engine bay and rip the rest out ( blocking the nipple on the UIM obviously )

Just out of curiousity what would happen if you plugged the pipe instead of venting it ???
#14
Did you block the pipe to the charcoal canister off or did you just vent it to atsomphere ???

I\'m leaning towards ripping it out at the mo but am not sure whether to block the pipe or vent it ?

If I do decide to get rid I probably won\'t rip all of it out at the mo , I\'d probably just rip out the under bonnet stuff for now

Hiya guys ,

I had my UIM off today and noticed that the pipe running from the oil trap to the purge control is split all around the end of the oil trap , this has been caused because the hose i used didn\'t really fit over the end of the oil trap , had to really heat it up to get it on , if I just replace it its going to happen again and if i use a bigger hose it probably wont seal on the purge valve properly so the question is should I just remove the whole darn lot ???

What are the pros and cons of removing it ???

Cheers

Paul
