Lol its dangerous playing with Clive! I find i tend to overdrive the fd when hes behind.

Definitely a few mistakes from me, over shooting under braking compromising me - not hitting apexes here and there. But I was happy with that being my first time there.

Videos are great to learn from.

That’s pretty much what I was doing when you were following me , many mistakes  under pressure .......
As Jon said , you peddle very well for your first time there . I’d be keen to know what other secrets your car has up it’s sleeves seen as I’ve been told off for spoiling a thread on RX8 OC lol

Hey Wayne,

Sorry - just saw this thread.

Hehe. Such great fun isn’t it. You know how to peddle also!!

So it is a 192 bridge from LC Rotary
Stock ECU - but a map from Lewis I think
Pilot sports (I think are amazing in wet and dry)
Racing brake discs (new front and rear for Combe), hawk pads
Updated radiator
HSD Coilovers (not sure of spring rate etc)
RB front and rear rollbars
Albins 5 speed (which as mentioned I had lined up for my FD) initially I wasn’t sure about the box / gearing as it does feel lazy sometimes compared to the 6 speed. But around Castle Combe (first time on track with that box) it felt really good.
Custom cages cage done by Craig at TGS
Sparco Seats / harnesses
Custom exhaust - high flow cat

I think that’s the main stuff?

Some more vids of my recent track days here (for interest)...

suffice to say after watching your vids Glenn you can certainly peddle !!! :13:

seeing all these vids on here, rx8oc blimin frustrating i wasn't out there with you guys!! :violent1:

Thankyou!!! hoping to do more track days this year. I must admit I’m a bit in love with the RX-8 and how good it is to drive.

See the moment when I was in front of Clive - took a bit much kerb through the chicane, might have been a little bit of airtime for lefthand wheels. Hehe.

Nice bit of driving !  :great:

I think even Clive was admiring the lines for half a lap before he pressed harder on the loud pedal !

Hehe. Thanks mate. I wish I had his power!! Would be a different beast to drive though.

Old school Mazda's / RX-2 high speed car?
November 07, 2008, 08:11:13 PM
Robzter,

Best bet is to put a Series 4 Turbo engine in - this can be done with minor mods and a custom exhaust manifold (run the engine with a Microtech or similar).  My RX-2 (15 years ago now!) was quite stable at high speeds (would sit on 200-220km/h for periods of time).  Main problem I found is that the bonnet itself started to actually lift up - as they are old cars, and they didn\'t use spot welding for the bonnet itself at the very front.  So even though the bonnet opened the other way, I use to see mine slowly rise up the faster I went (the metal itself came apart from the brackets).  Ended up bolting it together (was a racecar anyway!).

But RX-2\'s weren\'t designed for high terminal speeds, like an FD (FD has the aero, and the transmission, wheels, tyres, gearing, basic engineering for higher speeds).  RX-2 for example only has the 4 \'bolts\' holding wheels on as standard - which is a horrible setup.

Many people have converted the hub/wheel set-up to a 5 stud/nut - at the same time they upgraded front brakes and differentials/axels/brakes.

Like anything, spend the money and your RX-2 will be as good as a newer car at high speeds.

Looks like v-power (at least in Oz) is the best you can buy.

MRC News / Google Ads now at the bottom of the forum
March 14, 2007, 10:33:09 AM
Hi all,

As another revenue raiser for the Club, we have now added Google Ads to the bottom of the forum.

Each time a link is clicked on at the bottom of the Forum it will raise funds for the Club.  We are unsure exactly how much revenue will be raised as we haven\'t used it before - we should know over the coming months.

It also serves another purpose in that it will help raise MRC on Search engine listings.

Are you getting any error messages? is it stopping at PayPal etc.?

Don\'t forget the Database for the Shopping Cart is a seperate one from the Forum, you will need to register on the Shopping Cart database to purchase items.

Let us know.

Morning all!  Right - we are all go.

Hopefully things will start to become clearer for everybody after a few days.

To note: the existing Submitted Ads will stay there, but you will no longer be able to Post New ads into that area.  ALL NEW ads have to go through the NEW Ad Submission Area.

.ps m4drx - no probs., be great to have you on board in the future.

Hi m4drx!!!!

If you have been around as long as some of us have, you will see why we are doing this.

Everything we aim to do is make the club bigger and better, we are not aiming to alienate non paying members, but to give our Paying Members something a little more (which we feel is totally fair enough).

Hopefully this is something you will understand (there are many many posts out there about this very subject).

Be great to have you on board, but you certainly have the choice not to join up.

I\'m not going to get into the nitty gritty of Club Costs etc., many many people get a lot out of MRC without joining, and our aim is to give that little bit more to people who do pay to join.

Cheers,
Glenn
