Title: leaking boot!!!
Post by: rx7aberdeen on October 16, 2004, 02:22:37 PM
Does any one else have a problem when there is alot of rain the spare wheel well fills up with water, if so where does it come from?  And another quick one, on close inspection of the intercooling piping there is oil seeping from the silicone tubing is this the norm with these cars to have oil in the intercooler piping!

My wheel well does that too.
Open the boot and you\'ll see three plastic coverings under the bootlid behind the lights.  One behind each light cluster and one behind the centre part.
I took these off and cleaned them up a bit, clearing some crap from the holes that are there to let water out.  It didn\'t quite stop it, but reduced the amount of water coming in dramatically so I don\'t have to go out with a sponge after every heavy downpour.

I think you will get some oil into the piping which I think comes from lubricating the turbo impeller. (could be off the mark with this one though)  I wouldn\'t worry unless theres a lot but hopefully someone else can help you more with this bit.
