hi brought another rx7 t2 with blown engine (car been off the road for aprox 2 years before i brought it) fitted another engine
and found under heavy acceleration the rear of the car drifts towards the middle of the road. when you come off the throttle the car drives straight!!! ive had 4 wheel alignment carried out, changed both rear shocks. but it is no better!! can anyone out there help?
sorry forgot to mention the car has limited slip diff.
thanks chris.
Dont they have some form of rear steer that can make them drift a bit.
See //www.teamfc3s.org/forum for more info.
many thanks they have some good info here:)
Sounds like only the one wheel is doing the pushing!
Check that both wheel are being turned when under load;)
hi mate i had a feeling it may be a fault with the diff when i first got the car up and running if made a clonk from the nsr when pulling away but it got quiter the more the car was driven. ive got a spare diff so i will give it a try.
thanks for your help chris
Check your shocks and rear bushes, I had a simliar prob in the current egi, which turned out to be really bad rear suspension...
Although this does sound suspension related, before you get to involved have you checked tyre pressures lately ?
Good point Clive. When I first picked up my current 2nd gen, it was appaling under acceleration, it felt like it was about fish tail the whole time, on deceleration it would seem to pull back in line.
I checked the tyre pressures and this allieviated it to some extent but did not cure it. I fitted another set of springs and shocks to the rear and it removed the problem. I\'ve not done the bushes yet though.
:wave
cheers guys for your advice
chris.
