I\'ve just fitted my new HKS SQV SOV , theres an M6 bolt on the back of it , I assume this is for tuning it , unfortunatley the instuctions are in Japanese so I haven\'t got a clue what it says
Gonna have to learn Japanese it will make life easier for the future , but untill then can any of you guys shed any light untill I can get the hang of Japanese ?
dont touch the bolt if u have purchased the valve for a model specific car it shld be set correctly.the hks is a nice looking dump valve but when fitted to my old p1 the fuel consumption plumetted so much i sold it,,this might have been to do with the maf sensor getting confused but the hks shd work with standard setting..just fitted one to someones car and it worked fine with no adjustment but bit silent they work well but give a very distinctive sound..i prefer the ptshhh sound though
not had chance to see what it sounds like yet , fitted an ali AST at the same time but forgot to fill up the coolant before starting the engine , been advised to let the engine go stone cold before filling it ,
found some more info on these BOVs aparentley there louder if you mount them nearer to the throttle body , would that be the same as mounting it to the blanked nipple on the inlet manifold ( Pip told me this is sometimes done ) ?
I\'ll fill the coolant up tomorrow when I get back from work and see what it sounds like
When I dump it goes Ppppppsssfffffffftttt ,
everythings workin again now , came to fill up the coolant and realised there was alot less than yesterday and a distinct wetness to the bottom of the AST , the little springy clips that hold the pipes on weren\'t strong enough , after replacing them for jubilee clips and filling her back up everything seemed fine , just gotta check it in the morning but all seems good
it does have a different sound to the standard BOV but I think I like it , its definatley alot louder , should be able to scare old people now :rollin
