Title: Rubber Hoses...should I change them?
Post by: Holmsey24 on October 15, 2004, 03:59:06 PM
Hi all

As per piccie car currently has rubber hoses.  Car is standard except for induction kit.  Do people class changing hoses to metal as a matter of urgency to avoid possible splitting problems or is it ok to wait until the time they perhaps split and change at that point.  .

Any damage caused by this?

Thanks,

Matt :wave

There should be no problems. Well not the ones that can be changed to a metal type. Many people have split the ones going to the intercooler (Well I have!!) and I have HKS metal pipes there.
The pipes you need to think/worry about are the vacuum hoses. They can cost upto £500/600 to replace them all. This is due to there being a lot of them in places that require various engine parts to be removed.
