Guys,
I have some 99 spec wheels and not sure which tyres to put on it.
Whats the best ones for 225/50/16 s ?
Need them for use all year round.
Cheers
Gareth
Gareth, everyone has their own fav.
I like Toyo T1-S, Bridgestone S-03, Conti-Sports mainly.

I was reccomended Goodyear Eagle F1s by a few people and they really do work. Nothing to compare them with other than the Jap rubber that was on the car before though and there is no comparison.
Only complaint is that they have a little too much tread for track use :D

If you lend them to me for a day I can solve this problem :p

Problem was with the fronts not the rears!!! Will have to look into another set of wheels if I\'m serious about track days next year...
On a serious note, Ive driven on track with pretty new fronts before and Ive not had a problem with it.
Spare rims is the way to go, but its a pain only realistically being able to take 2 and not 4. Thats normally rears then.
I\'ve managed to fit 4 and a girlfriend in before now, it\'s doable!
I\'ve also got a set of track wheels and tyres for sale if anyone\'s interested. See the For Sale section.
I would like to know how you get 4 wheels in and still have space for another person.
The most I have done is 3, and 3 is a bit of a pointless number.
Ok, from memory in an FD with rear seats:
remove the parcel shelf, put one flat in the boot, one in the passenger side rear seat, one on top of these two (between the rear strut brace and hatch window and one in the front passenger seat with the seat belt around it.
Insert (admittedly, slim) girlfriend in driver side rear seat and drive the 40 miles home whilst trying to keep her smiling!
Job\'s a good un.
You must have small ones. I cant fit one flat in the boot (can do an angle with all carpets and space saver removed). Cant fit one over the strut either.
Normally do one in the boot, one in the back. Then my crash helmet on the passenger floor. Race suit/clothes in the remaining boot space. Gets very tight with a few tools and bits and pieces!
hmm i gota have a play with this too before doing the airstrip in Nov managed 4 18" tryres before but that was only a few hundred metres & changing gear was a bit tricky
Will try playing later maybe less space saving wheel....

let\'s not resort to insults just because I know how to pack my car properly!;)
Seriously, They\'re standard size tyres, 225/50/16. I think the hatch just about closes with the one in the boot pushed as far forward as possible, then I loaded the other one into the back and put the third on top and as far into (or should that be over) the boot as far as it would go. We also managed to get the parcel shelf into the car somewhere but I can\'t remember where now, possibly in the front with the last wheel.
lol
I was trying to get 255\'s on 17\'s so I have an extra inch and some more girth :p
Cheers for all your help on this one guys.

I feel so inferior...
if its only for track days/strip etc then why not just remove the passenger seat :D Loads of room then, easy get 4 wheels and tyres in. Leave the wife/G-friend at home. they only moan anyway when your off drooling over cars all day :rollin
Just looked in the 99 parts book and for a 16in wheel some have a 225/50/16 tyre and some have a 255/50/16 option on the same width wheel.
So if you want some extra rubber it\'s O/K.
i bought toyo R888\'s for track days and they are stunning...
Yep those r888 are amazing!...i highly recomend them!
