Title: Water Injection with Power FC
Post by: ScuttleRX on October 14, 2004, 06:48:20 PM
Can you use the power fc with the aquamist 2c kit thats desgined for 3rd party ecus, or would you need to go for the mappable 2s system?

2C is designed for any ECU that has a PWM output that can drive it. There\'s a possibility you could frig things, but you would be better off with a programmable ECU driving it as the 2S is a little limited from what I have seen.

If it twere me I\'d use a megasquirt and get a shift light and few other bits and bobs thrown in and have the basis for complete engine control in the future.

But I\'m biased.

Sorry im still pretty green on all this, does the apexi have a PWM output? :)

Whats a megasquirt, like a 2s but more advanced?

I looked in to this a little while ago, and could not find out if the Apexi has a PWM output. It doesnt look like it does.

I think you need to look at ECU\'s like Motec, Pectel and the like.

QuoteIt doesnt look like it does

Must admit I wasnt hopeful, haven\'t heard of any instances where it has been used for WI before, unlike the motec\'s.

Megasquirt does look like a good bit of kit although i think a little wasted on me :) Bill, can the M/s be used solely to control the WI or will it have to replace the ecu completely

you could use it to just be a shift light if you wanted. It would make a very good WI controller with a little bit of work. Being open source I have full access to the code for little tweaks.
