Title: whats your single turbo setup?
Post by: Ed_RX7 on October 11, 2004, 07:04:29 PM
Thought i\'d start a thread as there are many of us out there now and i think its time to compare notes somewhat!!!:cool

Also would be good for anyone considering going down this route and selecting a setup that may suit their requirements.

TURBO: HKS TO4E
BOOST: 12-14PSI

Turbo: XS T04S Strip Spec
Boost: Not Mapped Yet
Engine: Told it\'s a rather large port, but Carl will know. ;)
Power: Wont be going on another set of rollers. :reallymad

Still to fit the v-mount that should be ready by the end of the week. Then plenty of motorway miles to be done. ;)

Officer: And why was you speeding son???
Me: That wasnt speeding, I\'m still mapping it.
Officer: Mapping, whats mapping.
Me: Stuff you wouldnt understand.
Officer: Whats that sticker on your dash?
Me: Just trying to make the newspapers. :p

You cannot map for road conditions/loads on a set of rollers. Even using a bench dyno, you should still check it out on the road/track straight unless you are building drag cars. IMHO.

Plus you rely on their equipment being in good working order, only to find out the lambda sensor is way out.

I agree with you entirely on that.
See where you are coming from now.
I use rollers for initial setup and then tweek after on road or track.
Know what you mean about Lambda sensors too.
Kind regards

Max,
Did i read somewhere that you have recently changed your exhaust for one that doesnt make your ears bleed?    if so what did you put on, is it much quieter and did you lose any performance?

Is she run in and mapped yet?

I got hold of a Feed silenced midpipe to match the Feed rear can - it really does the trick on a single turbo, still a nice sound, but no ringing ears and you can have a comfortable conversation with a cupholder ;)

it\'s probably cost a few hp no doubt, but not that you\'d notice.

I\'m up to about 2000 miles now, I only ran in for about 500 or so this time, all good so far. I\'m running practically the same map as I had before, but I\'ve upped the fuelling at the top end to give a flat and rich 11:1 profile, rather than leaning to 12:1 at the top as it did before.

Greddy TD06-25G single Turbo
.8 bar boost, front mount IC, yet to be dynoed/mapped as I\'m comtemplating larger injectors and pump, engine has been rebuilt in Japan, could be modded but not sure.

Feels pretty fast, but i know theres more power as it running low boost at the mo.

Hi,
Got a little T78... as well as a fried ecu. Mods and power listed. Spool up is a tad slow, builds positive pressure from about 3300 with 0.9 bar at 4600ish.
