Title: Controlling Boost
Post by: Holmsey24 on October 11, 2004, 04:41:36 PM
Hi all,

Please bear with me, I am totally new to the RX7.  I am due to get my new RX shortly but after reading through a number of threads I am a bit concerned that I may need to buy a boost controller.
Can someone explain to me whether I would need one on my car.  It is a 97 with 16 bit ecu.  Totally standard apart from twin cone induction kit dump valve and cat back box.  I have also heard some people say that the ECU needs re-mapping to comply with our lower octane.  Is this the case with my car or is it just for cars that are running higher boost/more mods.

Cheers

Matt

As far as i know, if the car is stock then the stock boost controller should be fine mate.

As for the mapping im sure someone will be along to answer that soon enough.

Cheers

Matt, get it checked when it arrives, but it should be ok to run on optimax.
