Hiya, the on going saga of my car continues! I finally had my arches flarred out on the front to accomadate my rims, with the plan of going round corners and over bumps without rubbing.

Rather than go for an FRP widebody kit I thought I\'d take a risk and have the originals sliced and welded in aluminum which is a bit stronger. The fronts are 90% there, just need a touch up (was painted so I could make it to the Pod) whilest the rears have yet to be started.:D

Also added the upper CF canards.

I met up with Ben on Sunday for the trip up to Santa Freeze, oh hang on it was Santa Pod.

The front looks mad, but I think the rears need pulling out some. ;)

Yeah I have a few problems at the moment.  I havnt driven the FD for about 2 months now.  Not driven since the rebuild a month ago either due to factors beyond my control, and still cant drive it at the moment :(

If I come along Ill try to remember to bring you Dori Ten 27 on CD.  Really not sure how long the Nissan is going to take to fix though.

Was having a good look at your flares at the Pod, thought the workmanship looked quality!  Sorry I couldn\'t catch you.

First time I\'ve seen it in the flesh and it looks gooood :)

Are canards illegal?

Do you have any probs with your rear diffuser?

Great looking car mate.

I dont think the canards are illegal, as you cannot get caught on them. I think they dont like stuff that would hook you up to the car.

Was talking to a mate (copper) and after his initial WTF are they - he came to the conclusion that as long as it doesn\'t protrude outside the width of the car it should be alright. Which they don\'t! I did have a loverly lady met officer eye up my car whilst I was going onto the M25 - I thought they where gonna pull me!;)

What probs with the diffuser Feed boy? It collects stones if thats what you mean!:rollin

The rears are still to be done, I\'m told it\'ll be easier as theres more surface area to play with. But we shall see. I\'m happy with the front and it means I get to keep the brake ducts - maybe get some large RE Amemiya ones I had my eye on too... no must stop spending!!:D

Thanks for the comments, most appreciated! Spurs me on to do more tweaks!:cool

See some of you folks down at the Dartford meet tomorrow hopefully, although I doubt we\'ll see much as the nights have really drawn in now!

Provided they dont have sharp edges and do not protrude to far from the car they should be legal.

I always understood them to be illegal, like the old jag embelms, if you hit someone with them they would be like razors.
I am fitting mine with allen screws so easy take off on road and quick put on for track n shows.

mmm.. tasty! Had thoughts about removing the lights and using them as air feeds (using small indicators only in the corners) - then purchasing some C-West loverlys instead of the pop ups - like the Sterte garage white FD with C-West front. It\'s just the price of the C-West\'s that stops me!

RE: Canards.

At the end of the day it all comes down to what the MOT iinspector thinks of them, if they feel they are a hazard then they would be cause for failure.  I don\'t think they are actually illegal as such.  Just something that could cause an MOT failure.

(Oh how I luaghed when I saw a Nova get failed for a GT style wing with a 10" overhang each side of the car!!!)

Cheers for the comments Gareth!:cool

Wheels are: Volks - Gram Lights 57 F-Pro (light weight split rims). Just make sure you look at the offset b4 you buy unless you want to get wider arches aswell!

I really wanted to get some nice shots of the whole car but just haven\'t gotten around to finding a nice location.

I\'ve got some shots somewhere which I\'ll dig out but there not as nice as some of Scuttles night shots at the docks! I\'ll have to borrow him and his location methinks....;)

Hey,

Looking good.

Just wondering why you went for the Matsumoto Kiyoshi sticker on the front.  You do know what it is? I do. Shhh. I wont tell.

My car has been painted.
I should have it back together by the weekend.

Then I can take some pics and post.
There are a few nice looking cars around now.

I hope I can match your standard. Its very high.
I admit I havnt got everything 100% but close.

Russ.

Hiya Russ! Long time no see!

Yep me know what Matsumoto Kiyoshi is! I just liked the font/logotype and the fact RE Amemiya has their sponser stickers plastered all over their GT cars along with Aspara too!!

Yes I know I\'m sad, but I think it looks the part!

Did you get my email with pics and stuff for your site? Hope to see your FD soon, looks really nice in the photoshop pic on ya site!:cool  You\'ll have to get some more webspace so you can upload the larger images aswell!!

If you don\'t need your AD GT kit I\'ll put in an offer! lol!!:rollin

The main thing is to take your time, I know what it\'s like burning for a blat on the highway when the cars in bits.;)
