Title: PowerFC - Sensor/Switch Check?
Post by: Welsh Dan on October 09, 2004, 05:03:13 PM
Hi.
I\'ve just installed a powerfc, and the heat warning lamp stays on all the time, which indicates a sensor/switch has shuffled off its mortal coil.
Anyway, according  to the manual, the sensors/switches that are enabled at idle is as follows;
FUEL - Fuel Temperature Sensor
HWL - Heat Warning Lamp
ELD - Electrical Load Switch
FPD - Fuel Pump Operation
APR - Air Pump Relay
NTR - Neutral Switch
CCN - Charge Control

I know that neutral is nothing to worry about, obviously as its in neutral. The Heat Warning Lamp is going to stay lit, bcause theres a fault, and the electrical load light stays lit, presumeably because of the electrical load.

With regards to the remaining warnings, which of them are supposed to be lit? I have a decat and an Re-Amemiya air filter, which render the airpump useless, but is there anyway to disable the sensor and warning? Also, why would the Fuel Temperature Sensor and Charge Control be highlighted to indicate that there is a problem?

Any suggestions you guys

The fault is coming from your fuel voltage reading. It is highlighted black for this reason.

This is the fuel temperature sensor.

It doesn\'t help does it! I know nothing more than that :(

What does the CCN/Charge Control do?

Also, can I presume by the fact that there is a reading, that its the sensor thats the problem and not the wiring?

All the ones such as CCN are simply indications of either a switched input, such as the gear in neutral switch, or outputs such as charge control solenoid.

You will see them flick on and off as you rev the car, press the brake pedal etc...
