Title: Is it best to convert the speedo via a convertor box or speedo dial?
Post by: Matt.Wild on October 08, 2004, 09:29:42 PM
Collecting my RX7 tomorrow but its still in KM/H.  Obviously I need this rectifying but what is best, a convertor box cable jobbie or a replacement speedo dial?

Also, I take it will be limited to 110 mph?  Again, I take it that its another conversion i\'ll need to do?

Ta :wave

If you use a converter, the speed limiter will be raised to 180mph (which should do the trick) ;)

It\'s also quite a bit cheaper :D

I think it was about £45 or so. It\'s not that bad to fit yourself if you\'re ok with a bit of snipping and soldering

I ended up working it out from the wiring diagram in the FD workshop manual. I\'ll have a quick look now

no joy. The unit does come with FD specific instructions if you ask for them but I can\'t find my copy.
If you follow the instructions they give you for AC speed signals (as opposed to 5/12v DC), you\'ll be ok :)

Contact this guy

http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws1/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=import-conversions&iid=2493377445&frm=284

Looks good with plenty of recommendations.  Apparently it comes with full instructions for each car.

This was the email I got:

You asked: The chip for RX7 models is the same price £41.95 +£5 p & p . If you want a chip then just purchase one of the other chips and when you come to pay with pay pal or NOCHEX put a message stating your full make/Model of car. Cheers ANDY

Title: Which screws on the dash circuit board does the delimiter/convertor go on?

Which of the above does the delimiter get connected to using the ring terminals i\'ve crimped on?

Secondly, on the central plug, which wire is the speedo wire that needs the convertor to sit in between? Obviously i\'m aware I need to cut the wire but I want to make sure i\'m definatley cutting the right one!

Thanks all
