what is the maximum output of the trust t78 turbine and what type of fuelling would be needed to make the most of this turbine on a 93 rex
Interesting question, all depends on what car is running the T78, on a skyline it will produce close to 800bhp, on the RX7 we\'re not too sure but 500bhp is possible, the T78 can be run up to 2bar boost but will the rest of the engine take that??? thats the question.

dont think many rotories will like that sort of boost pressure for long. in practice dont think it will flow 500 bhp. you would need a much biger number for that i think. surely you would be better to look at gaining more engine hp through porting and correct fuel maping to complement 500+bhp
scott:)
its just i was lookign through an old edition of banzai mag and came across
groundseromotorsports.com
their rex was featured running a t72 and making 600+ and a 50shot of nos
but then it did say hours and hours of mapping and also the fact that he was running 110 octane race gas
i went for a burn in a rx with a t78 turbo in it was rapid probs on around 420bhp at least but i did hav to let it warm up for alot longer b4 thrashing it and u had to rev higher because of the lag but was really fun. it was running at 1.4bar of boost so not full but was fast!!:D
mind it did want to slide and slip alot itd probs kill u easy in the wet
only 1.4 bar of boost!!!! i would say that is just about max, The quickest RX in the UK is only running 1.5 bar. For most, 1 bar is max.
can u get 1.1 bar from the stock twins?
not sure but i hear that at one bar they dont last very long, i\'m sure you could squeeze 1.1 bar but they wouldnt be working efficiently.

Hi Antony,
I believe it is 2 bar actually that Geff\'s car is running.
Rich will know for sure.
Kind regards
