It could be that there is an air lock in the system as they need burping a couple of times to check there is no air at times.

please refer to your other thread for more info from the site l put up about bleeding.

After i put my engine in it took me ages to \'burp\' the system properly..

Also check for small leaks that may not lead to coolant actually hitting the floor. My temps have been pretty erratic during the first week of my run in period and my coolant would loose a little bit each day until i found a tiny leak coming from the thermostat gasket, not enough to dump coolant visibly but enough for the coolant to drop half a litre or so every 2 or 3 days and for the temps to start to rise...

Hope you get it sorted soon mate.

Thanks for posting this Donato,

I think we need to round up all the water related stuff and put it in our FAQ section to help give people do and don\'t info.

Clive - it might be a good idea to put some concerted effort into getting a list of \'approved\' documents together regarding the main issues that come up.

Delegate the researching and writing to people a) willing to do it and b) with some experience of what they\'re writing.  Have them write something that gives background, causes, effects, diagnosis and remedies.

Then have a willing expert (preferably people who do this stuff professionally or have relevant depth of experience) look it over for bits that are wrong or missing.

Pass it on to an \'editor\' who will make sure it all scans correctly and that the documents all have a similar format and phrases and are readable!

They could cover obvious stuff coolant system, turbos, rotors, intercoolers, fuelling, suspension, breaks, etc.

The docs wouldn\'t need to be completely static but could evolve with time and experience.
