Title: Door mirrors
Post by: tsh on September 27, 2004, 01:31:43 PM
Does anyone know how to get at the fixings for the mirrors on a 2nd gen? Just noticed my driver\'s side mirror is working up to a bid for freedom - and no obvious way of getting to the other side of the bolts...

not to sound tooo thick here

but dont you just pull the plastic triangle off from the inside - this should show you the mounting bolts ??

or are the bolts coming loose from the INSIDE of the mirror

if thats the case - i assume you would need to take the glass out - but the bolts could be part of the actual case

failing that - i can sell you a white one ???

I thought it might be simple like that - but I pulled gently and nothing happened. I\'ll try a bit more force now I know there\'s nothing hidden that I\'ve got to undoo...

ha ha ha now thats ammusing !

it didnt say that no

at the end of the day - pull it off - i cant personally see anything behind holding it in

the only thing to check - is the actaully door card holding the plastic triangle in - i know mine does on the rover i have

you have to loosen the top of the door card to get to the back of the mirrors

thanks

( i cannot be held responsible if you break anything !! :D )
