Title: Rev counter problem
Post by: andrewrx7 on September 23, 2004, 10:37:53 AM
Just sold my 92 RX, and typically a problem has now started. The rev counter has started to stop working, then start again...then stop etc etc.......

I never had this problem at all in 5 years owning the car, but the guy drives it away, and the same evening tells me whats happening!

Any ideas what is causing this? Is the rev counter electrical or mechanical? Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Cheers,
Andrew
Title: Tacho
Post by: Eddie on September 23, 2004, 04:16:52 PM
Hi

I had the same problem, mine worked now and again probably 5% of the time.
eventually had to buy a second hand tacho as mine had given up the ghost totally.
One thing you can check is that the three screw holding in the tacho are tight.
Got a second hand one for 40 quid from someone on the group, it is so annoying when the tacho does not work.

Hope that helps
