Post by: south cost 7 on September 14, 2004, 12:19:52 PM
I have just bought a 1985 RX7. Roughley, what is it worth?
It is Black, fitted with a TWR Body kit in fair nick
It has Failed the MOT on rust by the rear suspension mounts. Is There some one out ther that specialises in welding them up.
It has a Farley high mileage 134,000 but it has a full service history oil change every 5,000 miles. The motor started first time from cold  and there was no smoke at all, I let it worm up revved it no smoke it started strait away when hot, left it 5 min and started 1st time again no smoke. road tested it the motor revved to 7,000 smoothly and no smoke is the high mileage a problem., the gear box and diff seamed fine, no rattles or bang from the suspension .
The interior if in good con the ash tray has never been used
It has 5 Mazda alloy fitter and the tyres are 50%

The car will only be used on sundays and maybe club events
Any help would be aprishiated

you need to find a decent bodyshop that will deal with rust repairs. The corrosion in that area is VERY common and you need to make sure that its repaired properly with new metal otherwise it will come back fairly quickly.

probably best to find a smaller local type bodyshop that has been established for a long time as the modern accident damage type franchised bodyshops are cr@p and won\'t touch "proper" work.
