trust me!!  The car was in the bodyshop getting the kit fitted and they flooded my engine!  was prepared to remove the plugs and everything, phoned the guy i bought the car from and he told me to remove a pipe from the inlet manifold and pour three quarters of a can in and turn the motor over and to my surprise it turned over!!!  has to be coke not diet and once it has started let it idle and smell the smell of burning coke.  The rx7 is the only car this technique works on!

I can see some of the logic behind it (a strong detergent that\'ll remove oil, etc), but I\'ve not found anything on the internet to suggest that as a normal course of action.  Rx7aberdeen, you gonna have to confirm this works....

This info has been posted B4, ask Si, I think he used the method, or at least provided the smilies to go with it!

The sugar must have something to do with it if diet coke doesn\'t work.

...or we are all victims of a huge joke :D

i didn\'t actually try it in the end mainly cause it was fun watching the mechanics i was with attempt to reach the plugs over & over again....lol
& i just didnt fancy it not to say it doesn\'t work but anything which can clean toilets so well (seriously flat coke kicks ass at cleaning stuff) i figured maynot be seal friendly....only a guess thou although i wouldn\'t use diet as it may mean you run lean :rollin  sorry i\'ll get me coat (that last lean bit was a joke BTW ;))

What you really have to ask yourself is...

The guy who discovered this....

What exactly was he on at the time? :D
