Title: New FD Owner needs help!!
Post by: Luciano on September 12, 2004, 09:58:28 PM
Hi there,

I\'ve just bought an FD, and need some info if anybody can help.

1) when I rev the car hard I hear a bleep sometimes as I get to around 7500rpm, any idea what this means?

2) the oil pressure needle moves with the accelerator at low revs when moving slowly, like an rpm guage.  is this bad?

Thanks!
Luciano

1) Change gear

2) Sounds ok.  The oil pressure guages are known to not be the best things on the cars anyway

beep is merely to remind you it\'s getting about the time to change gear & the oil pressure thing sounds normalish to me as long as not too extreme (all in the opinion of the uneducated knowledgeless scooby_si(http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/dvv/sconf.gif)lol)

Thanks guys.

As a new rotary owner I\'m a little more paranoid than usual, but good to know everything is (probably) okay.

I\'ll have to take some pics and post them up, but its the car in my avatar - black, 17inch Mazdaspeeds, MS exhaust, ONE MS seat (anyone know where I can get another cheaply?)  Momo wheel, MS gear knob, short shift kit (absolutely fantastic) and lowered.

cheap ms seats don\'t exist!  They\'re as rare as rocking horse poo.

I\'m based in:

Newcastle - 80% weekdays
London - 20% weekdays
Birmingham - 50% weekends
Luton - 50% weekends

Basically, I work for a company with offices in Newcastle and London, my family live in Luton and my girlfriend lives in Birmingham.

ideal (!)

I\'ll have to check out some meets asap - later today I\'ll try to find the thread or forum for meets...  (is there one?)

regarding the MS seat, I really want another as my car looks silly with just one.  But if I can\'t find an MS seat, I\'ll buy a standard seat, and my MS seat will be up for sale.

Theres a sub section on meetings around the country, tonight theres a pub meet @ Mascrat manor in Warrington, next week theres the meet @ reading 21st Sept.

Check the meetings section buddy, hopefully you can make a few of the meetings to meet likewise rx7 owners.
