Title: Speed Conversion / UK Dials
Post by: CraigC on September 08, 2004, 11:13:40 AM
Maybe someone can point me in the right direction here...

I\'m collecting my \'7\' this week and it hasn\'t had the speedo conversion done on it yet. Called RX Motors and they can do the basic conversion/de-restriction for around £50.00.

This only leaves the dials which will still be in KM\'s - how/where do I go about sourcing a UK MPH reading speedo dial kit + is it  tricky to fit?

If it is hard to do, is there anywhere you can recommend that could do the whole lot (ie. conversion/derestriction+dial conversion)...

Much appreciated....

:)

You won\'t need UK dials. A strategically placed sticker over the \'KM/H\' or some creative work with a permanent marker will do the trick

I see...

So do most  Jap Import RX7 owners just have kilometres showing on the actual dials themselves?

How do you go about seeing how fast your going in MPH -  or do you just get to know the equivalent conversion in kilometres..?

Cheers

oh no sorry, I meant if you get the conversion from RX motors, the dials won\'t need to be replaced. The speedo will still say \'KM/H\' in the middle but it will actually read in MPH. Get a MPH sticker on there and job\'s a goodun :)

edit: this thread (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4934&highlight=kmh+mph) is handy :)

Cheers

is changing the dial difficult? the seller of mine had a spare mph dial which he included in the sale.
