Title: Petrol Needle Question
Post by: <--rYaN--> on September 07, 2004, 08:41:46 PM
I never thought about this until somebody asked me the other day

"why\'s your petrol needle still up??"

It never even crossed my mind that when i turn the car off, every other needle drops to the pin with the exception of the petrol needle that reads the same as it did when it is running, is it supposed to do this or is it messed up somehow?

Cheers

Ryan

They all do that mate.  Nowt to worry over.
Is a bit unusual though I grant you.  Thankfully the local chavs haven\'t figured out mine does it as I guess this would be a handy way to know when to siphon the tank of Optimax. :eek:

Not a selling point in my book, but the original sales brochure in Oz actually listed the following in the spec sheet.
"Constant indication fuel level gauge with low level fuel warning light"

My S13 200sx does it as well - I think a lot of the jap stuff does.

its pretty common on the newer jap stuff, both my 323\'s do as does my dads 626. The rx doesn\'t which always bugs me as I always think I\'m nearly out of petrol when I get in it to start up (+ it takes forever to find its level!)

My 5G Prelude was the same, as well as an XR3i I had for a few weeks :wave
