I was reading a book earlier that claimed that the RS is infact 4wd like a Scooby or Skyline - is this true or the book getting its facts wrong?
Its wrong
Errrrrrrr .................. no
As Lee and Gurj said - no 4wd FD.
It\'d be almost impossible to make one too due to the positioning of the engine - there\'d be no way of running the power to the fronts sensibly!

its been done on an FB and an FC for rallying. Rod Millen built one with partial support from Mazda to rally in the US and NZ and RE-A built one in Japan too IIRC
I should think they aren\'t the only one either.
<EDIT>
<-------- Duh I have a photo of Rod Millens car in my avatar :D
God if it was 4WD, Si would be able to drive it. ;):p

From memory Mazda built an FC 4wd WRC but it never rallied as it was completed just before Group B was scraped in 1986.
It was a group S car Clive , was going to be mid engined and have three rotors. but seeing as group S was the mad version of group B it got killed off when people started thinking about making the sport safer.

That looks terrible:eek:
it wasn\'t built to look pretty :p
I understand that Mike, but you\'d think they\'d at least try???:(
i\'m unsure if that is the finished product or just a prototype ... as above it was never really finished
Very Lancia S4! Someone bring back the killer B\'s!
They never left, just got moved to other classes.
6R4\'s can still be found out on the stages of clubman rallying (come out and marshal next weekend at Swinderby on the Wolds rally and you\'ll see some) albeit with a strict engine specification ruling (they still sound Ace though!)
RS200\'s can be found on Rally cross and hillclimbs as can the Audi quattro\'s Lacia\'s etc. etc.
