right finally finished this heat sheild its not 100% finished but you get the rough idea, i put some heat refective type tape under the sheild which you cant really see
i am not sure if i should keep it on there looks abit weird.

on the 1st pic i used damians template as you can see....

looks promissing is that totally to your own design then or anything taken from Damians design as per first pikky? I was thinking D\'s design would just need bending further towards the intercooler or sumin to fit the HKS filters in but looks like you\'ve gone for the horizontal plan rather than bending the vertical idea, think that makes sense but not sure if there\'s any pros or cons of either method.
Let me know if you tried that thou save me wasting my time lol
Does look bling thou :god
Out of interest i noticed it on the american ones what is it you\'ve actually used to go round the edges?
& (few aint i a nosy wee booger lol) where did you get/wot did you sue for the heat proof material? I\'m thinking of the none cheap stuff from http://www.agriemach.com/product_info.php?products_id=427 (http://www.agriemach.com/product_info.php?products_id=427) just so happens there\'s a group buy on the stuff (Well is primarily a exhaust wrap group buy but includes most their products) over on scoobynet ATM......
Any info good please fella
Cheers boss

i got alot of my ideas from Damians template had to kind of fabricate it here and there to fit mine mainly around the intercooler and i thought i would add an extra panel on the back to block some off the engines heat, i did this to stop some of the hot rad air getting sucked into my filters.

i used this kind of ali tape and stuck it on the inside just so that absorbs some of the heat, my dad got it from work they use it on aircraft to repair ali panels. seems like a lot of money for that heat proof stuff you can prob find some sort of alternative in B&Q

I used 18 gauge on some parts as i ran out of 22g, 22g is too thin and breaks easily as you can see the crack on the first pic i did that with 22g and it cracked when i was installing it.

i used silicone tubing i cut a slit down the center with scissors and put it on the ali. its on fairly tight so there is no  need for glue.

i belive in total this whole heat sheild cost me £35 the most expensive bit being the cold air feed i saw in halfurds that was £24!!!
